Once again we are last to know.
Today I got a small letter ( could have been sent by email ? ) telling me that the trial I was in - when was I told about that ? has finished.
The new delta 7 headrails are due to be released at the end of this year.
Could this 'trial' be why we have had so many DOR's ?
Nice of them to let us know they were going to be using us in this way !

Whats a Delta 7 headrail when its at home, and how does it differ from what we're using now. Cheaper components maybe?

not happy that they have gone back to the 'fish weight' style of cord tentioners rather than the much better screws.
Don't know why they bothered changing them ?

Is this a change that is going across the board or a regional thing
not noticed anything different about headrails and certainly not received a note about it.

You will notice that they are different.
Good news that they are reducing the 'bunch' but bad news that they use the fsih weight rather than the screws for locking off the cord in the rail.
Make sure you ask your fsm about that !!!

Is this anything to do with the NEW DE LUXE Vert headrail
Fitted one last week or tried to. No Fixings in the box. Went to the van for my stock of De Luxe fittings as used for them and Opus and found they dont fit! New cross section of de luxe rail is larger and needs a beefier top fixing. It took 5 calls from me requesting 6 in a iffy bag and 2 from the customer ranting before I got 4 on a van delivery. Hillarys idea od customer serrvice when something goes wrong, and their ttreatment of customers and us advisors has gone from minimal to non existent since thuis new lot of bean counters took over at the top.
they are sucking Hillarys dry of any commonsnse.
When did an accountant ever run a successful business with customer interface?
Feel free to reply, as n one at Hillartys will read this, they are all off down the pub at midday Friday and not back till Monday---wasters
Any similar stories?? Bear

Fitted 3 verts today, I assume they are these new Delta rails, noticed
a) Headrail metal seems more flexible, have they cut back on the metal thickness. b) Carriers are narrower c) Carriers are skeletons compared with the solid style previously used. d) The bit that runs on the rail is very open, might last the guarantee period, but maybe not. e) The ends of the cords are not even fitted with split-balls, just a knot. f) How are you supposed to alter the balance on split bunches. Looks like more DORs are in the offing. How are these adjusted as I do that regularly in conservatories where adjacent blinds are butted up to each other, and the end spacer is halved to reduce the gap. Looks as if a gap is the order of the day. g) Have I received any advance notice from Hillary's? What no communication you ask? h) Where is my "sample" so I can show the customer. Come to think about it, howe about wood ven samples.
Not all bad news, the self aligning feature required much less of a pull.
Is this now rolled out nationally?

As far as I understand, there are two vert headrails. One for normal fabrics ie luxury standard 1" channel & the chunkier Delta headrail for PVC blinds or industrial fittings with the push in hooks as opposed to the luxury drop in hooks. I have had two of the larger Delta rails which I presume are the new D7. The top fix brackets have a rounded tail & are aprox 3-5mm wider than the old fixings which have a tapered tail. Took me some time to get the right brackets too & I have had no notice at all about any upgrade.

No the rails I fitted was the standard 'luxury" rails, not the de-lux. So is there a change to the luxury head-rails as well then?

considering we are told that verticals account for 70% of the blinds we do, I think it is worrying that these 'new' headrails are not up to standard.
The 'tie a knot in it' style of fixing the cords is a joke.
I brought it up at the Leeds meeting last week and Ross K didn't even know about it ?
Does anyone else find this worrying ?
It's very hard to adjust a knot up and down the cord if you need to.
It looks cheap, open to slack workmanship ( will we get a knot or nothing on some ? ) .
We need to findout the head of this dept and find out just what's the deal.

after years of working for hillarys i have found that most of the "improvements" are really cost cutting exercises. the new headrails are just another example, thinner materials, open cog assys, knots instead of adjustable screw fixings? nothing changes the quality is still going down
