Sorry, did I miss something.
On Saturday, we had a fix it yourself sheet come through for these apparently new delta 7 headrails, but no forewarning that the headrails were being changed for a new design. Nothing. So how far will this go? I refuse to fix them on site. They will all be going back to head office for a D.O.R! Unless of course they are willing to pay us for this extra time it will take us to do it. I mean 14.68% or whatever it is hardly covers it, does it?

Reading the weekly mailer -this is due to incorrect tensioning on the blind- but it is easy to fix. If it's easy to fix why not do it at the time of manufacture? Since the Delta 7 rollout is continuing it looks as if this is not something that is going to be fixed in a hurry.

Now that I think back, we were 'sold' on the 20mm pleated on the fact that they would be pre-tentioned for us so it would be much quicker to put them up.
This was never the case and all had to be redone onsite.
A few months later, it was admitted and suggested that we did the fine tunning onsite.

I know its a pain to return to the customer but if we do not dor the headrails hillarys are going to sit there and no one will do anything about fixing it at source because :- 1 We are sorting the problem created by trying to cut costs for hillarys 2 They will not see the size of the problem therefore they will not bother about it Instead of us all getting worked up send them back. yes it probably will be more costly for us in the short term but hillarys will be forced to rectify it

I know there's a lot of strong feelings about split balls and cheap and nasty looking rails, but I have to say, I don't really have a problem with them. I've fitted several split bunches, only 1 has been out and I just left it as it was. The rail is much smoother than the old rail, unless of course they've re-discovered lubricant in the factory. I'd got to the point of using Silspray on around 60% of all verticals, but haven't yet needed it on a D7 rail. What's the most commonly asked question (apart from what colours does the £99 offer come in)? "How big will the bunch be? How much window will I lose?" These are definitely better, around 2mm per carrier I think.
One strange thing I've had today. Two sloping rails, no knuckle joints, louvres straight on to headrail. Don't know whether this is because it was a very gentle slope or because the knuckle joints are now thicker than the carrier. In 16+ years, I've never fitted a sloper without them before.

No Knuckle Joints = Cost Saving for Hillary's ! So you can bet an accountant agreed that change! On a different note........When did we last have a contribution on here from Hillary's Staff Members . Like Who is Ross for instance? And i wonder what Company Mellissa is with today ? (job centre UK ? ) What 'Red' said Earlier Really Does sum up whats happening with the company. The Changes are all dramatic , proberly very cost effective and have'nt done US any d**n Favours at all. One strange thing I've had today. This week's mailer ..... we will only need to make these simple adjustments "on the odd occcasion" eg. "if the tension had slackened during transit". How would that happen then? Someone in the back of the van stretching the cords?

I haven't seen the update mailer yet!!!! The bunching adjustments still shouldn't happen even so! As far as the new Delta 7 is concerned ... I have found it to be better than the old one. However, why is it that the Verticals department still manage the following?: Use a whole roll of tape per order? Still manage to damage the ends of H/rails on a regular basis? ( And please note that this must occur in the factory because the broken pieces are NOT in the wrapping! ).'Star washers' are too loose!? Oily smudges on the cords? Incorrect brackets to those ordered? Bottom chains STILL supplied too short? Chains are so tangled it is quicker to bin them & use your own spares? Spacer tubes either fitted with wrong size or missing? Anyone want to list some more?!!!

Finding the end cap covers keep popping off. Now if it happens twice it gets left off. Biggest problem is scratches caused by the end of one rail rubbing against another. Usually where there are 3 or more rails. All it need is a turn of tape over cut edge before wrapping with others. If you specify full length controls, they will be longer than the sill drop and will need to be shortened. Better to specify drop minus 5cm. I agree new rails are smother especially on re-alignment feature, but I still think they are flimsy, and won't last past guarantee.

BADLY SCRATCHED (where the ends rub on each other, the burrs where they cut them) Ask for controls full length, and they always come too long, so you have to shorten them. 31/2" & 5" on same track is a common one. There is 3 for you. The fact is we are now just constantly repeating ourselves, is that why the postings are drying up ? This is what hillarys know will happen, we all get bored with repeating ourselves and fade away !!!!! Well as I constantly repeat myself, I will fade away, like quite a few other big time advisors have done allready. it must be my turn this week not to have recieved commissions. Not e-mailed, not faxed or posted. so do I go out and spend today, or had i better wait and see if its been paid into bank on Monday. Louisa would you mind looking into it for me, after all you are supposed to look after my business aren't you...or should i say your business........!!! Iys not a case of moaning but answer me this all you field sales managers and upper management, do you wonder if you get paid on time, and the correct amount. Now my daughter is having a birthday this week, do i spend or dont i ?? What would you feel like F.S.M's if you didnt know wether the money was there to pay for it. especially when you know you have worked for it, and it should be there. If dawn is off ill, get some bugger in to sort it. Looks like i will now have to withhold monies collected from now on. I am at a loss with this lot..... WHEN ARE THINGS GOING TO IMPROVE !!!!!!
