I have just fitted 4 wooden venetians that were delivered this week. Ordered two weeks ago. They were all wrapped like parcels in bubble wrap inside the boxes (including the valances). All were exactly as ordered, including one 'special order' valance, and the right number of brackets were included and there was no damage. I fitted them, they all worked beautifully. End result one very happy customer, and I was out in a little over an hour. This is how it should be!

As I have just ordered a pair of wood venetians, despite my warnings to the customer, I am glad that improvements appear to be coming through

Just because one of us got 2 decent fittable woodens doesnt mean you can go mad, you know. Hope it works out--keep us informed?? Bear

Here is a positive note We are always moaning about the way we are treated as advisers and the way things go for us with admin and other things, but on the other hand are praising other people for the service they give us, the advisors. So lets give something back as an incentive. My proposal is this. There are over 800 advisors out there; if each one of us had just £1 deducted from our monthly income we could all nominate one or two people from any part of head office for the service they have provided to us, fsms included. This would give that person a £800 bonus gift from us to them. This could be given to an individual or a department and split up. Each advisor would be sent a voting slip from head office, which they would fill in, and forward to a appointed advisor to collate and then announce the person or department that had won it for the month and be issued the payment direct from head office. This would be a great incentive for everybody at head office to give us a better service whilst not being a great amount individually to pay out. Please give me all your feedback on this and if it gets a green light I will go deeper in to it. Lets take the lead and show some initiative.

Red Dawn in commissions name should be first out of the hat!! Cracking idea,,, I could run with that. If I got paid the dosh I earned that Hillarys stole from me, when they gave unrequested huge discounts to customers whose deliveries they missed pre-Xmas, I would probably doulbe it up to £2.00 Any more takers Dodgybracket

As service improved to us, the advisors we would be in control of how much a bounus we paid and could quite easily up it with a demacratic vote. It is a scheme I used to run with my last employer and it was very successful. Moral went through the roof and service was sky high. After all 50p a week out of your commision would hardly be noticed but a bonus to an individual of over £800 is a holiday for two so come on GIVE ME THE GREEN LIGHT EVERYONE. Red Red

I'm with you red, more than happy to pay £1 per month (if it works well then why not £2). Votes must go to an advisor to count I second Dawn for the first vote

Votes must go to an advisor to count I second Dawn for the first vote Great too see some positive remarks on this one. But, and it is a big but, and I am sure you will all understand. Nominations would have to be done privately and with no feedback to a particular person on the site which would influence a vote. EG Dawn in commissions. She would be my first choice as well by the way. ;D ;D. So from this point on no names should be mentioned. Red

I'm also happy to put in £1 a month to get staff at head office falling over backwards for us..... the trouble is we only have the names of a few of them. There must be dozens who help us who we never get to speak to.... I think Dawn would be able to retire early...... ;D Anyone want to set up an officail Dawn Fan Club?

When someone has gone out of their way all you do is ask them there name. And if for instance you feel the venitian department has done an outstanding job, you just nominate venitian production as a whole. Job done. Red

My opinion These people get paid to do a job, and should do it to the best of their ability, if they dont then action i assume would follow. We on the other hand only get paid on what we sell and fit. But if the blinds are not delivered on time/made on time OR DOR then we have to wait for our money until these issues are eventually sorted out and customer is happy. None of these issues are the advisors fault but we get penalised. They get their money on time every time and with no deductions. It is the advisors who should be getting a incentive bonus for each DOR we correct on site etc. How about .. we get a pound for every minute we are waiting for someone to answer our phonecall so we can raise a DOR ;D Would £1 a month to help moral and improve the service to us, the advisors really hurt you that much Owl. I can quarentee, once this was up and running you would recoup your £1 dozens of times over, Hillarys staff would be more helpful to us and everything would start to run for the better. Red

Owl....given the choice between carrot and stick I have always found that carrot is more likely to get people to go the extra mile, whereas stick just builds up resentment.
Red...its an interesting idea and you can certainly count me in on principle but you need to think it through a bit further in terms of how to set it up, make it work, keep it fair, etc and, of course, you would need some cooperation from the company. Good luck with it...nice to see somebody thinking outside the box and coming up with something both positive and original.

Red No £1 a month wouldnt hurt me, its the principal. Do you not agree with my opinion then. Any job i know of where you dont perform youre out on youre ear. In a way its the advisors that pay staffs salaries (and bonuses). Owl I do agree with your saying that People not doing the job properly should be dealt with by Hillary. What I am proposing is to reward the people that do an outstanding job for all the advisors. Thereby creating a feeling of wanting to get this bonus. I am just trying to show that we are not all moaners and want to do something positive to build our relationship with head office staff and I think this would be a good way of doing it. It would not be compulsory, you would have to sign a slip saying you authorize the deduction from your pay so you could opt out, but the more that opt in the higher the reward would be for the nominated person, with a bigger incentive comes a higher want to succeed. We know this as when the bonus for most of the advisor's went we did not try as hard anymore, so lets do something positive. We can not expect to just demand and or ask for things to be done for us if we can not show that we are willing ourselves. Red

Yes I know I would need cooperation from Hillarys so my next port of call would be to contact them to discuss it, if I get sufficent positive feedback that is. Red
