Why are we having a go at each other? we all know that there is a vast differance in sales areas. I would dearly love to be able to accept only 12 leads and still make a decent living, but round here that is bloody impossible . I work three days selling with 10 leads per day availability(4am,2lpm, and 4 ev) I then fit for the rest of the time. I find it difficult to keep above 3k in sales each week . I am now working longer and working harder to stay ahead of the game. Also I have always worn smart trousers with a shirt and tie. We arnt having a go its just different views on running our agencies personally I'm just trying to give my example of dropping from 30ish leads down to 12ish has just made me work smarter and gain more self gen .SMARTER being the operative work some people think having 90leads a week is the answer

Some advisors achieve a far higher conversion and AOV than others. Some of that is down to areas, but I doubt that's the only reason. I'd rather see this forum as an exchange of ideas helping each other to be more successful, than just a whinging post - and I do my fair share of whinging. If there's something you, or anyone else, does that would make me more successful, I'd like to hear about it. If there's something I find which helps me, I'll post it, but you don't have to try it if you don't want to. If some people want to sit back and say "it's not my fault, it's where I live", that's fine, it's their prerogative. But if anyone wants to improve their earnings, and I do, we can learn from each other. AS for the comment about smart trousers, if you read my original posting, it was aimed at one person, and one person only - ME. I realised I'd become too casual and taking my customer for granted as I was doing very well at the time.

No, and I sympathise with you, for the several months we did have it, I sold it twice, but my conversion rate dropped significantly, and it's bloody soul destroying. If you want help dealing with it, talk to some of the Scottish people on here. 4-5 years ago I was on a course with a lad from Edinburgh, and they were doing any 3 blinds for £99, any mix rollers, verts, venetians. They're much better salesman than I am.

We dont have it now and i know what your saying we had 3 for 99 last year i threw samples away kept the worst and only sold 2 deals my conversion stayed the same.My points not about the worthless 3 for 99 its more about lots of leads dont mean lots of business.3 for 99 devalues all we stand for

Stop moaning and do something about it.
Remember you are self-employed.
I did do something about, if I said you can sell blinds at half the cost you sell at now and make twice as much that will give youa clue.
When certain privledges were lost to me and being fed up with losing business to the comp, because they all know our business, and do product we don't.
It has not effected my hillarys figures which go up each year (now 9/12 years) and the monthly report is all bull anyway.
Before you ask I do not steal hillarys customers, they are already lost. I just get them back instead of the comp.
Now I can let their spin and bulls... wash over because I am truely self-employed and making good money. I have no fear ofthem I now show them the same loyalty they showed me I call it a partnership and we both make money, they cancall it what they like.
By the way...... hello everyone , first post. see yo at the roadshows.

Why do you assume that anyone who is successful doesn't have any competition? And do you really believe there's a county where Hillarys can do £250k/month and not have competition? Because that's what Hampshire & Isle of Wight do. But hey, maybe you're right, maybe there isn't another company in the whole of Hampshire offering blinds.
Now where are Thomas Sandersons based .............. oh that's right, 4 miles down the road from me, 2 units along from my accountant, and almost next door Manhattan Blinds. Not to mention Trident, Manchester House, Brilliant Blinds, AustinMarr, Douglas Knight, Clanfield Blinds, UK Blinds, Richards Blinds, Orchard Blinds, Oxford blinds (actually based in Botley, Hants) and god knows how many small, 1 man bands and large dept. stores selling blinds. And this just in the area I personally cover, I haven't a clue how many other blind companies are in the rest of Hants or who is on the IOW.
I also share my areas with 4 other Hillarys advisors.
So, how much competition do you have?

And then we have Appeal Blinds sponsoring the weather report on the local TV every night, plus Panda Blinds, Blinds Direct, The Blinds Factory, Blinds4U, Gosport Blinds ................ But apart from those, no I don't have much competition
