Can't believe it............. Had a call today from a customer, saying .....can i order a wood venetian blind for my downstairs loo, i have seen the one you have fitted for my next door neighbour, and i am impressed with the quality of it....... Also went down to a small local blind company near me, just a one woman and daughter set up, to see if she would do a cut out in a roller blind for me (Hillarys Wouldnt!!!!!) Whilst she was doing it, she was telling me that she also bought in her wooden venetian blinds from CHINA as well, and they were absolute crap !!!
Irony is, a week earlier, I beat a quote by her for wooden, cos' the customer thought ours were better quality. It looks like they were the same. Oh eye, trouble is ..........youv'e guessed it, i have had to d.o.r one cos the top slat won't turn.

Just fitted 3 large 35mm wood venetians. New cords, much softer and smoother, able to fully operate all 3 without problem. Bit concerned cords are stretching though, all 3 very uneven and cords feel stretchy when pulled

Something really must be done about the quality of wood venetians. I have just returned from carrying out a DOR replacement where the replacement blind was much worse than the original. This is now going beyond "teething troubles" and stepping into the realm of "juvenile delinquency"

just had my 'weekly mailer' propoganda, wood ven problems fairytale in there but no apology for the upst/distress/extra cost etc. we've had to put up with. they didn't have to mean they were sorry but it would have been a start. OH I AM SO PLEASED WITH HILLARYS !!!!!!! Now the price of wooden venetians has risen this must mean that when we get the blind it will have:---- No Scratches, No warped slats, No varying shades on each blind, Valances that match, Valances that fit, Cords that run smoothly, ( That'll be a first!) Top rods that have not come out of the holders, Centre Brackets in boxes of Blinds over 125mm wide, Matching PAIRS of brackets. Right size brackets for the slat size delivered. Those little wooden buttons SECURELY fixed under the bottom rail. Because up to now what we got delivered had ALL or most of the above in EVERY delivery. So now they are charging higher prices , then they can afford to do it right, so we will have no more problems. We will have::--- No Wood Ven Dor'S Happy Customers No stupid Hillary deductions hitting our Commission. Confidence to start selling them again--)sold none since October9th 2005.) Referral business on Wood Vens Higher Lead effect figures, and oh I forgot COMMISSION !!!!!!!!!! Oh I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY, I THINK I WILL WET MYSELF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yippeeee!!!! I am so happy to be a hillary agent???!!! Lets all hear you all being sooo happy!!!! Must go now , the nice lady has come with my injection!!! Dodgybracket

dodgyb! The little wooden buttons are called 'Under Buttons' ( surprisingly). Don't forget that it is only the 50mm woods that have gone up. Do we ever sell 50mm!!!!!! ?? I wonder if Sillarys will have enough stock for 35mm though??? They are always on the 'Suspended' list. I agree with Gloryboy .... the latest 'update' mailer read like a Labour Party manifesto written by one of their 'Spin Doctors'. Credit where it's due .... it was very cleverly worded. Still no mention of this site however!!! It will be nice to have confidence to sell 'Woods' again as I've turned away from some big orders over the past few weeks due to lack of confidence in the product. I'll still wait 'til I see positive comments here first though. The £3000+ 'woods' order that has been DOR'd 3 times since October & not paid for would be nice to complete too if they can 'get their fingers out' now!!!!.

Just got my At Home mags that should have been here last month. What's highlighted on the front? Only the product with the highest DOR and highest out-of-stock rates of any product. Yep WOOD
I'll have a double helping of whatever they're on

Russell, Your comeback should be that if there will be no more DOR's then there is no problem in offering us £20 per call back, since they will never have to pay it as the quality will be so good? Ha, Ha, Ha.

Have fitted 8 X 25mm wooden venetians today ( D/O/R'd from original order of 10 )
This latest batch have stickers inside headrail with QC (quality control) signatures (Lynn and Sheila). All blinds raise and lower more smoothly , but wood quality is still shot ! 6 X blinds are poor . Jagged cut marks at louvre ends , Sratches , Non matching Valances , and this time colours completely different to my samples and the samples customer obtained from Hillary's.
Oh dear , later this evening - phone call from customer care - Will need to D/O/R X 6 again !
Right , i have spend all morning replacing these blinds and will not get a payment . Thats standard ! and if customer care think i'm going to to another 6 , then they are in a different world.
Why should i (try) and chase FSM for some approval !
I say sod that !
The most recent wood blinds are NO BETTER! , Can we not gather here in numbers and STOP selling them for 3 months?.
Anyone else so peeved off too!

I'd love to stop selling wooden venetians at the moment, and do my very best to switch customers to aluwood, but if the customer says they want wood, are you going to walk away with no order? I'm afraid the salesman in me, (and my bank balance), says sell them. They're usually high value, and I'd rather do £500 worth of wood with a couple of call backs, than several clouds orders. Better still, I'd sell aluwood, high order value, few call backs

email the details of that order to Mark Lucas, he seems to think everything is hunky dory and no need for apologies!
