So have mine, opened up the boxes after our delivery today, and suprise suprise, splinters, stain runs, not threaded right, won't pull up and down. And we have to justify our higher prices on our quality. Come on Melissa come out with me to fit these with me and you can explain to the customer why they are such crap. I have allready been slagged off once with the 1st set, because yes...............you've guessed it. .....................THIS IS THE 2ND LOT FOR THE SAME CUSTOMER...................yes more wasted time and money,,,,,,,,,,,,never mind i'll keep doing to keep my f.s.ms bonus up..............yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

On one of the blinds, the box that the brackets come in had a plastic bag with all the bits that had fallen off the blind during production. Very nice of them to place them in a bag so that l could finish making the blind myself. The Lazy Sods.

Report it - phone and ask to speak to Mark Lucas directly with the details of the blind.
High time they got a bit of grief back for the aggro we have to deal with from customers.
Also - farmer , if it's the 2nd DOR then call HQ and refuse to do it.

Fitted some wooden venetian DOR's today. Getting better in terms of quality, but not there yet.
Still bits missing which had to be taken off original blinds. Blinds not checked for open and closing slats OK Bits loose in the headrail.
Come on Mr Lucas get it sorted. lts your credibility that is slipping. Never mind swanning off to China on a "jolly." Try getting it sorted in Washington first.

So pleased that the have changed the cord in these, it means they actually raise and lower now. pity they weren't clever enough to use the same colour cords. just fitted 6 today, all had different coloured raise/lower cords to tilt cords. just beggars belief, customer can't believe it. she bought 8 back in April and was let down several times because of out of stock problems, these today were 2 weeks late and now need to be corrected. hope all Hillarys managers are enjoying their Saturdays at home

Problems I haved with new wood venetians
1. Widths vary. I've had 2 DORs which wouldn't fit in to the brackets from the previous blind. Had to remove plastic end caps to make blind fit. 2. Blanks being left out of headrails leaving big holes where cord locks/tilts options could be fitted. 3. Most star washers from tilt rod loose in box. I've had less than 50% still on blind 4. Valances being delivered a week after fit date. Yet more unpaid service calls. 5. Telling customers about "same room option" and slats will all line up. No longer true, blinds are mass produced and just cut to size by Hillarys

Yep, all new style, 35mm and 50mm wood. These blinds are being bought in, mass produced to standard sizes. Hillarys then trim down width, take out surplus slats and fit tilt & cord mechanisms. If you look at bottom of headrail, each side has 2 holes for cords. Hillarys fit into the relelvant one, and (on a good day) fit blanks in to the unused pair. It also means cords are further in from the edge of the blind than we're used to - same principle as the Argos type blind, set controls well in so you can trim off each side. I fitted 4, 50mm in bay this week. Sold on basis of matched blinds. Customer immediately said not level. TheY're not far out, and she accepted them, but they're certainly not "SAME ROOM OPTION"

last 2 orders i've made asking for same room option on wood vens they've come back with blinds in differing packaging, obvious before unpacking that they would have been made miles apart let alone from same batch etc. that we are led to believe this 'special instruction' will ensure . sort of makes the term 'made to measure' seem a little loose a bit like saying i'm a 'conservatory specialist' because i've fitted ready made blinds into predrilled holes in a conservatory roof frame that i could work in standing up in. fairytales ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cant we all get together, and form our own company, still covering our areas, surely we would do a more profitable, and a better job than this bunch of incompetants. Had no commission statement this last week, so Hillarys won't be getting any money from me next week, it will stop in my account until they have to constantly ask me for it, like we have to pester them for anything.............first class useless *%£$%@@s
