I also have one waiting - should be done tomorrow but it's not coming even tho it's been marked up as finished !
Result - two visits, one to fit most of order and another when ( if ! ) the other turns up .

We had 13 woods on our tracking report, booked in to fit this week. They were also not on our van. We have been told not to take any notice of the first available day to fit on the SAM, but to book it more than 2 weeks from sale day. Also another order booked in not sent yet. I thought they were quiet??? What will happen to promised appointments when (and if) if gets busy nearer Xmas? We are now going back to the tried and tested method of booking fit appointments when we actually have the blinds in our possession. Then customers aren't let down and we don't have days with nothing to do because there are no blinds to fit! Of course that doesn't help with the DOR problem of unhappy customers. Had a new wood to fit yesterday that needed to be DOR'd because it was made longer than it should have been.

I always ignore the "suggested" fit date on SAM and book the fit to suit myself and the customer. This usually means that the fit is 3 weeks from the sale and gives them plenty of time to get the blinds to me.

that's good sense. I have to admit to being a little lazy on this and do offer the 2 week turn around as that is also what most of the competition around me does.

We fitted our first wooden vens this week..... and I have now just taken the first service call on the first one fitted!! Doesn't pull up smoothly..... Here we go..... another call for no payment due to faulty blinds being supplied. Nice to see Mellisa back....but no questions have yet been answered...... We all want a reply to Motter's questions, and can I add two? Q.......When will you be notifying all the Hillarys advisors about this web site? Q........Is there any reason we don't have anyone from head office making comments on here apart from you Mellisa? Have they been instructed not to, or are they free to comment as they wish? __________________________________________ I assume that by "talk to me directly" you mean via this site? I think it's imporrtant we all see the questions asked, and the answers given...... would you agree?

Fitted my 13 blinds today. Fitting was going great until 12th blind. Too d**ned big(1.5 cms more than my measurement). tried mixing round different windows on the off chance that it could be changed round with another, but no joy (sorry Joy). As for quality of the blinds, yes they're not as good as the previous blinds , but customer is happy (apart from the 1 blind) so I am too

just been back to customer that had her wooden venetian fitted on Monday but cords fell apart Wednesday!! This comes on top of the blind being delivered a week late. Bargain these new blinds aren't they.
The ones for fitting this weekend are still nowhere to be seen. I tried to beat the system on this order by delaying the fit date to 3 1/2 weeks from sale only to be scuppered again! sales support staff not interested.
has anyone noticed the huge increase in sales of wood venetians which the dvd expected due to the 30% reduction in price (working longer and harder for the same money)?

Yes Motters, the ends were finiished quite well. It would also help, on large orders, if the factory or whoever would number the blinds in the same order that I have. It's very frustrating to open "blind 1" only to find it's not blind 1 and then have to go through all the boxes trying to find which blind fits where

Fitted a conservatory full of the new wood venetians today and half of them where not corded right in the headrail. Had a couple of hours to spare so I uncorded them & redid them the way they should of come out of the factory. Worked fine after that. With reference to dibsdobs post "the tilt raise housing pops out" .For the ones I recorded today this overcame the problem. Shame they havn't noticed this at HO, don't normally have time to do this but seemed better than making another visit with more faulty blinds.

if department heads are supposed to be monitoring this forum why has there been no 'official' response?

Quite agree !
The quality (or at least the build quality) of the new Wooden Venetians is quite appalling, has attracted a lot of attention and comment in this forum, and demands some formal response from Hillarys to acknowledge the problem(s) and advise what action is being taken.
We, the advisors, are the first-line customers and it is we who have to take the flak from the end customers, as well as making repeat visits with DOR's or spending more time on site correcting manufacting faults - we need to know what is going on please !
Bring back the old Wooden Venetians - even at the old prices at least we could sell them with confidence.

What about the little clips which hold the top slat against the ladder. Fitted 10 blinds today and these clips were either missing or broken or fell off the first time I operated the blind. The clips are paper thin and dont seem strong enough to do the job.
