I have been getting wood blinds to fit without any support brackets, like today maximum 2 metre blind with two poxy box brackets to hold it up and 3 cut in half velcro pads to hold valance in place.
Luckily have plenty spares, is this penny pinching going to far or what ? Are any of you guys having same probs.
Glen

Hi Glen, I brought this up with my own manager yesterday and he told me that an email has been sent to the head of wooden venetians on this to stop it happening.
We will soon see !

Have fitted some of the CHINESE wooden venetians and am not impressed especially as the order combined chinese and home made blinds. Fortunately the customer did not notice the difference(yet) Anybody else fitted these yet you can tell the difference just by the weight, never mind the quality.

I noticed that the cords in them are different and don't allow for a smooth movement.

The new range of woodens are imported from china in standard sizes and trimmed to size here. because they are presumably alot cheaper this is why we have dropped our prices by 30%.

I fitted my first two of the 'new' (35mm) wooden venetians yesterday. The brackets are great - definite improvement. The wood itself seemed OK but the cording and mechanisms were poor, the blind had not been assembled properly (neither mechanism located in its housing slot), and general build quality was borederline. I was also puzzled to see that they cut housing slots at both ends of the headrail and then plug the spare holes with blanking plugs that don't fit - what's that all about ? Customer seemed happy enough but I am half expecting a service callout in the next couple of weeks.

Fit 14 of the new chinese blinds the other day and have to say I don't think they are as good as the old ones. I had fit the customers other house with wood ven and she thought these ones looked slightly different. The cords had also marked the wood slats--took some rubbing to get off. As long as she dosn't call me out with problems I can live with them.

Just fitted 8 of the new wood venetians today, totally cheap rubbish, all the same problems as everyone else. I hope the Hillarys top management take note, go back the better quaility as I had no problems selling them. I felt ashamed as I left this customer, this is not progress.

I'm sure that Melisa will be very interested in our experiences - good and bad of these.

i,m not even getting wood delivered now. it seems all my high value orders for wood hit some sort of problem causing the order to miss delivery. the alleged system where hillarys ring customer and myself to advise of late delivery is non-existent. now i'm being told they don't want to use courier to fulfil obligation to customer. sometimes they make things so hard.
