We had 5 venetians from 3 seperate orders that were supposedly arriving by carrier too.... nothing came. They just arrived on the next van run.

I suspect this is another cost cutting exercise. No more special deliveries.

Cost cutting thats it. Save on courier. Cust complains, give discount, save on agents commission. To hell with the quality issues, customer care, and of course no one bothers to tell customer or agents, we need to find out the hard way.

Another let down at the moments is sales conversions. I take a conversion, pass it to quotes if outside the 24 hour period, and I give a fit date (it normally works for me), but more often than not, quotes do not diary it, so when fit day comes, we end up being double booked.

At least you get a quote converted. I have just checked my database and in the past 12 months have sent in 147 quotes. Guess how many were converted. Yes you have guessed, a big fat none, zilch, zero.
Thats 147 measurings at around 30 mins each = 75 hours work for no return, zilch, zero.
And I know for a fact that any quote I do send is is never followed up, and how do I know this. Because the customers tell me.

I didn't say quotes converted the quote. I spoke to the customer. But as it was outside of the 24 hour window, I had to contact quotes to put it through, and they no doubt claim the credit for it. But after giving them the fit date, they still failed to put it in my diary.

And just came accross another fit due tomorrow, still in production. What is happening to venetians. It was only a few weeks ago, that they were coming up on the next van. I'm sorry, up here I have 2 companies that will supply and fit in 48 hours. 3 weeks is just not on.

After yesterdays rotton day(thanks Red) i got myself all fired up this morning to give it my best, got to my first call and this is what happened
customer has 10 year old freehang pleated that needs replacing, she still has the invoice so has the sizes, decides to order on web blinds as its easier but the size of her blind exceeds the size we now make and so web blinds site wont allow her to order, she rings the freephone number to have it confirmed that we cannot make a pleated blind that size.
BUT WE'LL SEND AN ADVISOR OUT AND LET HIM HAVE A LOOK
so i'm a chuffin magician now as well

Checked in the blinds on my delivery today. Found a pair of headrails with an old order number (pre-SAM) and i could,nt quite suss it out.

Later i looked up the order number ........Now this is CLASSIC.......Dated 17 July 2005. Yes 05!

Now i remember- the original headrails were never received so i had to D/O/R them ( and i did fit the D/O/R d headrails ! )

But for the Originals to turn up 10 Months Later ......its a Bl**dy laugh !

I confirm this is true and not a joke !

Beat you by a long way. One on my next delivery tracking report is from 2001. Been on my list for years and never quite gets to me. Customer has been very patient though. Probably dead now anyway.

Same delivery problem here Ordered 15 ven 20/4/04 ,as customer travels a lot, booked fit for tomorrow and guess what, yep,no blinds. Does this mean we now have to book fits in more than 4 weeks in advance. Maybe should stop selling all venetians for a while as none of them seem to arrive on time.
Well I think I may allow the better half to take me out to lunch instead. Who needs to earn a living anyway.

I stopped booking in fits at sale several weeks ago. Just put in a fictional date. Don't feel any pressure now from customers unless they are going on hols. In which case i will keep an eye out or chase order.

It's difficult to understand what's going on up there. I've got verts I don't need until 31/5, but jobs I'm due to fit next week are still showing as "new order" on the tracking report, even though the order was taken a week before the ones I've got!
