I too wonder what happens when the discount vouchers are paired up with this new c**p offer. Before long there will be more Bears leaving the zoo!

Hey Plug.... How yer doing? It doesn't matter what the fabric is. I don't want to sell 3 of ANYTHING for £99!! Minimum of 2 visits to house to earn £14.53??? Time/petrol to sell, measure (twice! lol) and fit 3 blinds, Petrol /time to visit house to correct manufactured DOR's. Time/petrol to house to cover 3 blinds under a 12 month guarantee. Time/petrol to house to cover the NEXT 12 months guarantee after those replaced under guarantee blinds have been given a new 12 month guarantee!! I know that Hillarys don't actually want us to sell at these prices.... they want us to sell up. But by giving the customer a choice of 12 colours in both venetians and rollers --- why would they want to pay more for something else? Even a double glazing salesman would have a difficult time doing that, and I refuse to try and con anyone into something they don't want or can afford.

Attended area meeting today, all complained of the 4 for 99 offer we ran in Sep, FSM said this would not happen again. Got home tonight, picked up the post, guess what 3 for 99, great, she never told us about this, this morning. Looks like i'm going back to same ghettos' as for the 4 for 99, would make more money selling doddgy dvd's and drugs in these areas then you do selling blinds. Don't like to sterotype but not nice areas.

Be honest..... How many of you are scanning the "jobs vacant" section of your local newspaper, before you are looking for the Hillarys advert??? I had 5 available slots for tomorrow. My diary has just come through with 2 of them filled! One am and one pm.( One of them timed!) And this the busiest time of the year.... I now have most of the day free.... (more ironing??) My FSM has asked me to put in MORE availability. WHY? He wants me to do evenings... but I don't want to spend all day at home and then go out in the evenings because that's all there is!! And I still don't want to do 3 for £99!!! It hardly covers the petrol. I hate moaning all the time..... but it's hard to be positive at the moment. Someone say something to motivate us all!!!! Even Mellisa has disappeared again. The last post from her said she was going to spend half an hour each day reading and answering our comments........ that lasted a long time!

I agree with you Joy, by giving a bigger choice of colours this makes amockery of Melissa's claims that the 3 for£99 offer was purely to generate leads. I could understand the thinking when we were offering that 5 inch orange rubbish that nobody would buy. now that the samples are obviously coming out of the 'current' sample books we can hardly say they are discontinued stock and by having something for every colour scheme it would appear thisoffer is more about vvolume of blinds sold. could it be that someone at the factory has a target of units produced to meet? I'll only be offering pink, orange or lime green to any customer who asks.

On the couple of occassions when customers have asked about the 3 for 99, I have shown them the fabrics and they have all agreed that they wouldnt give them houseroom. They have then refused to pay any more than 99 for the fabrics they do like. Most of these customers are on a tight budget and thought they would get a bargain and have not bugeted for more money, even clouds at 3 for 146

Just been reading back over Mellisa's posts.... She says:-
Don't lead with the offer.... the customer may have forgotten about it by the time you get there!
Ha ha ha.....lol! lovl!
They are usually clutching the leaflet when you go through the door!!

I have had my first 3-99 job today !
Managed to get a £150 sale in the end . But that was only after the 'forget it' comment from the customer when I tried to expalin the full terms of the offer didn't apply for them !
Still, after the balls up that was the 4-99, why have they cheapened us further by offering these promotions once again ?
I understand that they want the phone ringing to generate more sales etc.
But - lets get to the source of the problem.
Right now as it stands Hillarys are struggling to get the basics right.
If time and money was put into the right areas then they would be able to work smarter by not having so many dor's for a start !!!
Maybe they could employ some of us as trouble shooters ?

Maybe we could start offering a professional fitting service for people buying their own blinds ?
