Who said they were a thing of the past? I have just got round to checking off last weeks statement to find a clawback from a fit back in June. When i left there was no problems and commission was received as normal. Watch this space cos there will be some fireworks tomorrow.

It seems Hillarys are entering a new phase of annoying customers now as well as advisors. They are sending out letters chasing up payments if there is a delay in fitting for any reason. Two recently have been for DOR's when I have been waiting for them to sort out their mess. One of them is only about four weeks old ( not long when you consider that this is a holiday period ) Anybody else had any of these?

We had one...... a demand for payment sent to a customer whose daughter had just died, (reason for the delay in fitting!) The customer promptly cancelled the order altogether. Result = upset customer and me with no commission.

What happened then? Hillary's Won ! didn't they !!!!! No BLINDMANSAM Hillarys havent and wont win on this. I have emailed the details to Dawn in commissions and then to FSM telling him the details and that if it isnt refunded then ADIOS im off. I told him i didnt want a phonecall back on Friday about this just to get it sorted as it is certainly no fault of mine. I will find out more next week one way or another. If he wants to lose his only full-time advisor who is also the only roof and awning specialist within a large area over something which is trivial i admit BUT PLAIN WRONG then all the things i now think about Hillarys and the job will be proved right. I dont want to sound arrogant but over the years everytime im on holiday or once off for a whole month through illness they are always more than in the brown stuff. As no one from surrounding areas will come in and do the specialist stuff. They once sent out the trainers to do the conservatory work! I will leave it in their hands and will certainly not be stewing over it until i know. They aint worth it no more im sad to say.

Been charged £20 for a dor'd roman value £80 that had to be remade cos it came thingy eyed. Texted FSM & got usual no reply. They are not getting blind back until I get my £20 back! it is time the issue of penalty clawback was related to the value of the blind & staged up to the £20 maximum. A total agreed front needs putting to Hillarys on this trouble is so many are leaving that keeping long termers together to put a united face on things is becoming impossible.

I gave a customer a £40 discount to save raising a DOR....and me making extra trips to re-fit. I assume this also saved Hillarys money....but what do they do? Take £6 off me! Also got a DOR fine for £20 for a blind that was made in the wrong colour by Hillarys! Still waiting for that back. Luckily I kept the email I sent to SAM changes when the customer changed the order. (Sent within 2 hours of the order being Sammed). Oh yes...... my FSM called on me the other day, bringing another advisor with him to save going to his his house too... ( bit cheeky - I had never met the bloke as he was new, and getting leads in my village!!). A suggestion was made that us advisors could have meetings in each other homes, say, in groups of 6, instead of meeting in hotels!!!! What next? ?? Shall we put the fsm's up for the night too? That will save Hillarys some MORE money!! Be ready to say NO folks!! Joy

I can see the meetings being quite lively thats if everyone has the bottle to show how we really feel. some say that they are staying away as a protest is this the right way to be heard.

I have decided not to accept the invitation to the regional meetings. I'm pretty sure there will not be much listening going on..... I have better things to do than spend 3 hours driving there and back, just to collect new sample books.

I can see the meetings being quite lively thats if everyone has the bottle to show how we really feel. [/quote] I don't think we will get the chance to raise anything at the roadshow meetings. These are going to be slick presentations with plenty of audio visuals and a bit of razzamatazz, all rehearsed and timed, so there will be no opportunity to 'rain on their parade'. In the bar afterwards, however - that's a different matter. I will be attending our local roadshow because there are four new ranges being launched and I'm sure it will be beneficial, but it is probably not going to be a suitable forum for many of the things we would really like to talk about. I'll be at Milton Keynes on 17 October so look forward to meeting up with a lot of you there.

A suggestion was made that us advisors could have meetings in each other homes, say, in groups of 6, instead of meeting in hotels!!!! Joy Nothing wrong with Hillarys saving money, and I don't even object to your FSM saving time by seeing two of you at once (though being a new advisor pinching your leads was more than a little insensitive), but meetings in advisor's homes wouldn't work. However, I've always felt that meetings in swanky hotels with overpriced sarnies have been a blatant waste of money and have sent out the wrong kind of message to us all. All that is needed for a team meeting is a relatively comfortable private room, some simple snackfood, and a bar to socialise in afterwards. Every town or village in the UK has something to fit the bill - a pub with a meeting room, or the local football / rugby / tennis / bowls club, etc., so Hillarys could easily save a lot of money by using our local knowledge when picking venues - and the money they do spend would be going back into the local communities where we ply our trade, rather than to global hotel companies. Suggestions direct to FSM's please.
