Last saturday (28th January) whilst fitting blinds , the customer directed me to her neighbour who wanted some verticals .
I had already fitted blinds for this neighbour about 2 years ago , and she wanted 3 X Clouds Beige in Bedrooms . Did a paper order ( SAM was asleep - and recieving some much needed electrical input) . When i got home i put the order through on SAM, complete with a ficticious fitting date!.
On Thursday (2nd February) the blinds arrived on the delivery van . I rang customer to arrange fitting.
Today (4th February) i fitted the blinds . Everything Perfect!
I am so impressed with the total speed of this ! 7 days order to fit - brilliant! - OK i am not in favour of SAM 100% but the incredible pace of order placing is its best feature!
So- anyone beat this recently ! Lets hear about it!
ALSO-..........
I have e-mailed Mellissa recently , and have not recieved any reply . Perhaps her Birthday Celebrations were all too much . Very sad.

Impressive Aries, but I think more a symptom of h/o not being very busy. I too ordered blinds on SAM last Sunday and received them Thursday, but I've had the same result with paper orders in the past. I think it just depends on how busy, and what fabric is running through at the time. I'm actually so busy, I'm currently booking w/c 27/02 for fits, but I actually have several orders scheduled for fitting 20-22/02 in my garage. I'm finding conversion rates worst I've had for ages, and those ordering are ordering lots of cheap blinds. Guess that makes me a busy fool, rather than cost effective

I have done some monitoring and find as follows 11 single blind orders last week 3 orders with 2 blinds 2 with 3 blinds 1 with 4 blinds and 2 with six blinds Average order value including VAT ==£124inc VAT That is £105.50 per order which is £15.00 commission average per order. This "25%" off if u order on the day and "New order today" initiatives are droping values deeply. It will soon not be worth getting van out of garage Where are the £350 punters gone. Why does every sod do it on plastic??? Where are the well heeled pensioners who "only do cheques" They are still there---We are dealing in the dross who are skint---thats what!!! Had to wipe my feet as I left 2 houses today!!! When are we going up market, say to Capri, or Lace Willow? ? Sold 3 woodens this week My high spot. Bear

When are we going up market, say to Capri, or Lace Willow? ? Bear Bear, your last sentence says it all! Six months ago, you wouldn't have thought of capri or lace willow as "up market". Customer today, only interested in £99 offer and 1/2 price venetians - colour didn't matter that much. Got 5 blinds for £265!!!! God, haven't we fallen a long way in a short time.

Good to hear some blinds come quickly. I ordered 4 woods (I know, I couldn't talk the customer out of it) on 7th Jan and still waiting for 2 of them.

Took an order for 2 verts around 2:30pm yesterday. According to my tracking report this evening, they're made and ready for delivery.
I did speak with someone at h/o yesterday who told me they're so short of vertical and venetian work, orders are being released almost as soon as they arrive, so if you need to changed anything, don't rely on the order being held until 12pm next working day

bear, your so exotic going to malta.......can you suggest anywhere for my mid-season break Went on a freebie, mate, wouldnt have been my choice as I've done 2 stints there as a squaddie in the '70's. Flea bitten hole , threadbare and full of chavvy Brits, complaining about absolutely everything. I was on a diving trip with some ex-service mates who dive on wrecks for whatever they can scavenge, treasure-hunt/sell to scrappies etc. Rest of time spent round the pool swigging Industrial quantities of beer. We covered the costs of the trip with brass scrap, and a load of China which fetched £800 quid in a local auction in Valetta yesterday, now that you ask. Beats the hell out of fitting blinds into catnic which is how I spent most of 2-day!! Bear

why cant anyone put the right wooden venetian brackets in the right box is that to hard a job!!!3 months this has gone on for now...either no brackets!!!!wrong size brackets..or one of each.
the knob who checked my order was TK...his big red tity intials on the checked label on top of the blind.
so lets get this right...this idiot gets paid to carry out quality control and his only job is to check that the blind works and the right fittings are included and he can't even get this right.
its time we started naming and shaming these idiots who never have to face the customer and add to our daily problems............
