I hate to be negative about shutters but in 11 years with hillarys I have only been asked if we do this product only once and that was a yank who had just moved over here and this was about 4 years ago. I'm not suprised that in the south they are popular but I think north of watford they may take some selling? as for the training I don't think anyone but a few have even been asked if any yet. it maybe like the introduction of woodweave 10 minutes in the middle of a quarterly meeting,in which all my fsm could do was deride w/weave as crap and the pitfalls of selling them.I think this new product will be like awnings calls very few and far between and maybe they will only be given to conservatory specialists with a 6 slot call?

I think actually that the training for shutters is going to be very limited and selective, at least initially - just one advisor per county at most, and the training is two full days at Nottingham so I guess they must be serious about this new product.
I have been persuaded to give it a whirl so I'll be at Nottingham on 27/28 March - if anyone else on this forum is doing the course on the same dates please let me know, as I look forward to meeting more of you personally.

I refered a customer for our shutters. They cost -a- plenty and took the two guys an age to fit ( they were being ultra careful), my customer friend was delighted with the result. I have to say they were bluddy good !! Although the fitting time was out of balance with the sales time.

Is anyone on here one of the 36 advisors doing Shutters? Not yet, but I'm doing the course at Nottingham next week. If you, or indeed anybody else, has got queries or questions relating to Shutters then please let me know and I'll try to get them answered when on the course.

I know a bit about the Shutters already from an overview course, I was just wondering if anyone was doing them yet?

It looks like I am going to Nottingham on 27th and 28th of April for the shutters course. Any one know of the nearest, best and cheapest hotel to stay in. Any one else going?

Red...I did the Shutters Course a couple of weeks back. Great product but prepare to have your mind blown on the first day with the measuring process - all falls into place the second day when you fit some. Not a product for the faint hearted advisor.
I can't really help with hotels because the one I stayed in was crap - £ 51.00 plus breakfast, nearest car park was £ 13.00 overnight, and place absolutely and fundamentally characterless - so avoid the Travelodge Central. I'd suggest a hotel out of the town centre and with its own parking. If you find out who else is on the course and arrange to stay at the same place then at least you can socialise in the evening (and slag off Hillarys to your mutual content).
