Anyone doing the shutters course 22-23/05? 3 of us have booked the Best Western on Mansfield Road. If booked through www.activehotels.com it's £47.50/night. Red, the hotel you used is only £40/night through this website

Hi GVM I did use the Active Hotels website but when I booked it was a little dearer. Must have come down since. Its a good course and the quality is excellent so have a good time. There is a pub just up the road, turn right out of Hillary's and then left. Its on the right hand side and does an excellent two course carvery for around 6 pounds. Well recommended. We ate there and were still full the next morning as you can eat as much as you like.

Can someone who has done the shutter course, give me an idea of the cost of a 170 x 147 and a 230 x 147 . At a customer today who is wanting them, but we don't have a trained advisor here yet. Of course, there may by a width restriction, as per wood venetians.

Basswood (top range) 300 pound per sq m Lockwood ( middle) 260 Craftwood (cheapest) 199 eg width1.70 * drop 1.47 =2.499* price 300=749.70 pounds 2.30 * 1.47 =3.381* 300=1014.30 Total in Basswood = 1764 pounds Red

A customer ( originally from Texas! ) asked me how much our Shutters are.
When I said £200/sqM she was shocked beyond belief!!
They cost a mere fraction of that over in the USA.
To see a cost of £300/sqM is a joke.
Glade I'm not spending 2 days of my time at Hillarys on that course!!!!
Loss of Work days & Income ... cost of Hotel, Wasted lead availability & little chance of selling them .... along with an unreliable supply ( as with other products! ) .... NO THANKS!
My days are being wasted enough with these 'Clowns' as it is!!!!

Going on a shutters sale this evening, first one. I dont hold out much hope as although the area I am going to is a wealthy one the actual road is a load of old terrace town houses so I will go anyway to get the experience and if it results in a sale then OK. Going in positive and optomistic but wont worry too much if no sale as just experience will do for now. Will let you know the outcome later.
