Red...I did the Shutters Course a couple of weeks back. Great product but prepare to have your mind blown on the first day with the measuring process - all falls into place the second day when you fit some. Not a product for the faint hearted advisor. I can't really help with hotels because the one I stayed in was crap - £ 51.00 plus breakfast, nearest car park was £ 13.00 overnight, and place absolutely and fundamentally characterless - so avoid the Travelodge Central. I'd suggest a hotel out of the town centre and with its own parking. If you find out who else is on the course and arrange to stay at the same place then at least you can socialise in the evening (and slag off Hillarys to your mutual content). Hi Mike, thanks for the tip, pity though as that one was coming up as only 21 pound a night. I will just have to do a bit of reaserch. Red

I was on one of the first shutter courses got my first sales lead last week 8 weeks after my course. before my course my fsm told me that shutters are a lot easer to measure and fit then pleated roof.....well I dont think so, most shutters jobs will be a two man job to fit thats if you can get your head around the measuring prosess, I was also told that shutters are a high ticket sale ( meaning only people with money will buy them) well to date I've had 3 sales leads all found them to expencive I dont think shutters are going to do my agency any good at all, Ive been on the firm 9 years now and I think its the hardest product to sell and fit to date

Red & Maximus, I was set to go on the Washington course but told yesterday it is now definitely at Nottingham. Just as I had booked a hotel in Washington-typical. I will be stopping overnight 26 & 27th April & found two hotels on the Notts web. A Best Western in NG5 2EF postcode which I presume is not far away from Colwick & is £110 for two nights inc breakfast & Active Hotels-Saffron White & Green Hotel in NG7 6LB postcode area similar price, both with on site car parking. Apparently Lorraine is off ill at moment hence confusion over siting of course. Let me know what you think hotel wise & hopefully we can tag along together for some company.

Hi Just checked out the two hotels you mentioned. On Multimap they both appear to be around the same distance away, about 8 miles or so. I can not find the 110 pounds at the great western, it comes up as 180 pounds but the other one is coming up as 110 so if you fancy that one I am game. Red

The Saffron hotel is just off the Mansfield Rd A60. Reasonably easy to get down to Colwick from there-A60 to A612 onto Colwick Rd. Single room showing up at price I emailed to you.

Anybody else going to the Nottingham Shutters course on the 27th and 28th and want to tag along at the same hotel? Myself and Alcli01957 will be staying at the Saffron White and Green hotel around a mile or so away from Colwick. Let me know if you will be going and need any details.
