Nice to see how much notice they take of how the advisors feel about these offers. It seems a very " this is what we are doing take it or leave it" attitude.
The email I received today regarding SAM update said:-
"For the 3/4/5 blind deals, you will need to manually discount because SAM doesn't have the logic in place to generate these multiple pricepoints. If however there is a '2 for' price as part of the multiple, then the 3,4, and 5 blind price will be calculated. This applies to Clouds and Capri."
Does anyone know what these deals are all about ?

Had mine also. As you say soooo complicated.
Sales need to be simple, no way can you communicate this lot in an advert or even at the sales call so what will happen is that we'll spend ages chopping and changing pricing fabrics till customer finds one that is cheap (or within budget which could be the expectations set by the advert) that they like. We don't have hours to spend just trying to get it cheaper for the customer. Marketing - We are only selling blinds keep the offers simple so both customer and advisor can understand what is on offer.
As far as prices are concerned not had time to study (need a few hours !!) but seems to continue on the theme of cheap cheapo cheapest.

I've noticed that some members have expressed confusion (need a Maths degree !) regarding the new Winter promotional pricing, especially the multiple vertical blind offers.
I have had a crack at simplifying the layout from the promotional leaflet and have printed off my own version which I will display at the front of my price list binder.
Maybe it won't clarify things for everyone but for me at least it makes it much simpler to understand and, perhaps more importantly, to explain to customers during the sales call.
Trouble is, I don't know how to post a copy of this (Word document) onto the forum, or even how to attach it by email using the 'personal message' option for communicating with members whose email address is withheld.
If Motters, or any moderator on this forum, knows how to post a Word document attachment that members can download, edit, and print off for themselves then please send me instructions, or send me a personal message revealing your email address so that I can send you a direct copy by normal email for you to post onto the site for me.

Hi Heriticus You can post it as an attachment. Just save it on your desktop and then post a reply. Go to attachment top of the reply page and browse for it on your desktop. Click on it and presto, it should work. Red

The problem I've found today, is the lack of "2 for .." offers. We've got loads of "3 for .." but only clouds and capri to offer people who want just 2, this doesn't leave much scope to sell up, esp. if blinds are over 2mt. Most of the "3 for .." offers seem to be the old "2 for .." plus the cost of 1 extra blind, e.g jacquards were 2 for £279 + £140 = £419 for 3. They're still £419 for 3, but I can't (shouldn't?) offer customer £279 if they do only want the 2. I understand the incentive to get an extra blind, but why do Hillarys always take things to the extreme? Why can't we have several fabrics starting on "2 for .." plus others starting at "3 for .."? I'm waiting for the Sales Talk, saying " we learnt a lot from running this promotion ..." [glow=red,2,300] A happy and prosperous new year to all [/glow]

Thanks, Red, for your comments. Thanks also to Joy, who sent me a personal message offerring to have a go at this for me. I am following Red's instructions, but also emailing a copy to Joy so that if I am unsuccessful she will have a go for me.
So (hopefully) see the attachment to this message for an alternative format for the January Multiple Vertical Blind Promotional Prices. You may not find this any better but I think it is easier to follow and probably a better format for explaining to customers. Feel free to save it, copy it, edit it (my version reflects Midlands pricing) and print it as necessary.
If anybody finds the formatting corrupted when downloading, this is a 'Word' document in landscape format with all margins at 1.5 cms and in 12 point Times New Roman font.
Be interested to learn if this is any help to anyone.

Only if you click on this thread does it show up as the last posting made.Dont know why this is. Red
