Went 17 miles to a call this morning. Punter wanted 3 verticals for £99. I said sorry we dont do that--Yes you do I was told so on the phone he replies. What he did I found out was --He had asked do you still do 2 for £99 and the answer from the switchboard was" We do better than that we now do 3 for £99.
So what about all this Selected area b****cks that the FSM rants on about??
Having gone the distance I made the sale of 3 ACACIA Bordeaux for £99 AS THE CUSTOMER INSISTED.
He then dragged out "Additional Discount of 10%"
Sorry cannot do I replied. He still took 3 for £99 and will be complaining on Monday that he was not allowed to use his voucher.
Do Hillarys take us for total Lemons??
Why should I now go 68 miles in total to earn £14.00!!
Sorry Melissa YOU REALLY NEED TO GET A HANDLE ON THIS BEFORE YOU END UP WITH A WALK-OUT I have spoken to three old-timers today and frankly 2 of them are ready for going because of this sort of uncontrolled Head Office " Sales at any Cost Policy"
How much longer do we have to pay to enjoy the privilege of being a Hillarys Agent??
And by the way my Accountant advises that Hillarys can supply self-employed agents with uniform ( but not tools) without damaging the self-employed role. He acts for several Everest Agents and their kit is given without payment by the Firm. If you want me to wear it then supply it--otherwise forget it.

How about we take a very different approach.
LETS... offer every single customer the £99 offer.
LETS... offer them a bonus of 3 for £99 if they order something else
LETS... do the whole house at £33/window - many customers point out that ads don't restrict to one offer per household
LETS... flood Nottingham and Washington with £33 blinds
LETS... watch managers and directors bonuses drop through the floor, followed by the value of their shareholding in the company.
LETS.... see what the clever people do then, after they've mopped up the puddles on the office carpet

We are on page 6 regarding this offer. How long is HO going to ignore us ??
I also have spoken to a number of advisors and a fair number are considering moving from Hillarys because of this attitude, me included.
Melissa - How much does it cost to get a new advisor on the road ? Think you better increase your budget for next year for advertising and training new advisors.. Also it's the good advisors who are talking about leaving Hillarys so better reduce your expected sales revenue budgets too !!!

Had one the same yesterday. she asked if the 3 for 99 was on verticals and was told yes. I was shown the door politely. Would the management of hillarys please do your job and sort yet another mess of your making out preferably stop the stupid offer. I think breweries and drinken revelries come to mind in relation to your management skills!

just another note I saw the advert in the paper today it made us look like a cheap company try to knock out cheap blinds. This will really attract the middle and prestige market

Customer today wanted web-blind prices, measured and fitted. Measuring and fitting are free - it says so on the adverts, and web blinds is Hillarys.
Well, at least it made a change from 3 for £99, and it was me who refused and walked out. Funny though that she hadn't heard of the 3 venetians for £99.
Left her a paper quote with the wrong dimensions on it, hope she uses it to order from Web Blinds

Just scanned through the 6 pages of comments - agree with every one - this is the worst thing Hillarys have done since I,ve been with them (4 years) and in my opinion doing far more harm than good. Reactions range from downright anger to cynical laughter at the pathetic choice of fabrics
Two things conspicuous by their absense - 1. Anyone got anything good to say about it? 2. Comments from Hillarys!!??
WHEN WILL THEY GET THE MESSAGE?

Hi Have already posted on this subject a few months ago methinks it was on the other forum. My area has been running it for some time now and as I stated then it just clogs up your diary with a load of ****. Customers who want and expect something for nothing and get a little annoyed when their 3 mtr window in Hopscotch gets the old thumbs down. Is there light at the end of the tunnell or is it someone with a torch heading my way. On FSM's they are nothing more than recruiting sergeants I expect they may be busy soon.

Joy & Mick, Likewise with me today, no-one asked about 3-99. But why demoralise your workforce by advertising crap. i didn't join Hillarys to put up with this crap.
One of my ex colleauges in my area, left last for all the reasons posted on this site, and is now running his own thriving blinds business.
I am now seriously thinking of taking up his offer of going to work with him. After 15 years with Hillarys. One of the main reasons is that he is a family run business, and we have'nt got bankers and shareholders to answer to.
We know who is making the real profits with hillarys don't we. it certainly aint us.
What are "they" all doing on a night while they are expecting us to run around on a dark cold winters night. Come on Hillarys give me more respect than preaching from figures and statistics, they can be manipulated to look like anythng.
I challenge anyone at Hillarys to sit by my side for a month and see what its really like.

Worst offer going. l had an old lady who saw the advert for 3 for £99
Turns out that it is for her conservatory, 9 windows of which some would have been out of spec, only 3 blinds per customer.
lt just helps my lead effect go down, so my bonus goes down, equals less money for me, more money for Hillarys.
