Fit out an old ladys porch the other day in maze fabric rollers...I dont think this fabric is suitable for rollers as it seems to be too stiff and springy...whatever I tried, it would not roll up tight and even, it just kept rolling up loosely and going out of line...thought it may have been a one off until yesterday when I tried to fit the same fabric at another house...got exactly the same problem with it...and had to re order new blinds in different fabrics for the 2 customers....I have reported the problem to H/O and now removed this fabric from my sample book ....anyone else had similar problems?

All of these stiff fabrics have the same problem. Just leave them a day or 2 and they settle. Used to happen with maze, lace, harmony, piazza and others. All settled after a few days, never actually replaced one, but sometimes had to go back after a week to adjust the C clips and get them rolling straight

If you are having problems with certain fabrics , the simple answer is to remove those fabrics from your sample book and exclude them from any future sales. I do this with such fabrics that cause a problem ! Never looked back . Bin the 'maze' ! no-body will know at Hillary's and even if they did - who care's !

try them on a 36mm barrel. i had this problem with mimmi, sold lots as vert and roller combi but it wouldn't sit tight on 25mm barrel, put it on 36mm and was perfect.

Like the new roller samples, glad to see lots of browns, we were always being asked for browns and never had enough choice. Cannot understand though why they have done away with shape 3 and kept shape 9, I know they say they have kept popular shapes. We found shape 3 very propular but have yet to sell a blind with shape 9 (zigzag). Is it just us or has anyone else found the same?

HI AMBER I agree with you 100%. I too have never sold the zig zag. Most people comment it looks horrible. I do wander where they get their results from when removing "less popular items".

Looked bloody horrible. Have sold the new chrome eyelets though, think they'll look good in a bathroom with lots of chrome accessories. Surprised you can't have braid as well. The eyelet option is in the same field as the braids, so you can't specify both

Sold zigzag once, shape 3 was my 2nd most popular, after shape 1, and what this tad of crystal pearl drops, if I sell them, i'm glad I only have to fit them, not live with them.

Karen ;D No Rollers or Romans yet ....... but I think my FSM is cross with me for taking 3 weeks off! Seems being self-employed means you still have to work when "the boss" says so! I am speaking to him today.... but he says he is not prepared to put up with it! Not sure what that means...... but if I want to take some time off, then I will. ;D

Good for you Joy, I feel the same way about "time off", luckily for me my FSM sees it my way too. As for samples, I only got my romans and rollers this week but how come some have had the new woods long enough to be fitting them now. Glad to hear that they're an improvement on the last lot

I agree with you Joy, it IS your business, you should be able to take time off if you want it!!!!
The problem for Sillybillys is that they budget for potential business & the FSM's are targeted to hit figures. As we know too well, if things don't go according to the 'stats', then it is a failing on yours & the FSM's part to do the job properly!!!!!
If Sillyards could replace you & wipe you off the face of the map then they would!!
What may help you is that where you are based it may be difficult to replace you. Tough on Hilliards I know!!!!!
There is a guy about 12 miles from me that has been running 'hot & cold' for the past 7 years. He seems to hang on & does business when he wants to.
The choice for any of us now is whether we are prepared to stand our ground & behave like a self-employed person or tow the line!!!!
The problem is that either way, we'll get 'shafted' by Hollirds whatever we decide to do.
Harriards, will eventually learn the hard way & find very few people prepared to work with them.
I'm getting to the point whereby I really hope that is what happens ..... they deserve it!!!!!
