I am trying to be positive here................ I am being told that in the new year there will be 2 new advisors set on in my area. Thats nice to know.......... Why don't us longer established advisors get some input into the new advisors. ie, we could take them under our wing so to speak, to guide them, and show them how to do the job . This of course would be for some reward of course..... The reason why i say this is, because over the last 10 years or so, i have seen more advisors come and go than "soft Mick". They usually leave their business in a mess, leaving me to clear up their agency, facing all the abuse from disgruntled customers, blinds that don't fit, d.o.r's, monies gone missing......I could go on. In the long run, just giving us all a bad name.
having helped to build up this area, over 15 years, working every hour god sends, i now find that not only will i be competing against UK Blinds and the like, but other advisors as well.
Will they do evening and weekend calls, or as per usual, I will get those, and they will cherry pick from the daytime slots

I too have a bouyant sales patch , and have seen hillarys bring in other advisors . These agents seem to last 1.5 years on average . Each time a new advisor is started my earnings drop by a third , i keep detailed records which help me to analyse. It is so much better for me when they leave!
For year 2006 , if a new advisor is started in my patch then i will co-operate less with hillarys. I will certainly not assist their start up support!
On to 'samples bag' - We all know what blinds we sell the most of (vert's) and what fabrics seem the easiest to sell (capri), so a smaller selection is the way forward in my view. Yes indeed KISS ( keep it simple Sillarys). This applies to ALL blind types ! I remove fabrics that never sell and let my home wheelie bin take care of them!
As a conservatory roof referer, i would much prefer a specialist is sent to these customers from the word go ! So would you Specialists travel the extra mileage to take these on ?
As pointed out previously , I bet any new sales kit bag will be chargable to the advisor ? Can Mr Kenney state here and now that i am wrong?
I think we all need at least a year free from any added expenses like that . Sam has knocked my own budget entirely , and as i speak doesn't look like its paying its way!
Next week we will be notified of the 'winter ' offers - i am dreading reading the content.
Above all - we must be allowed to do things our own way , taking on board as much of the hillarys way that we see fit to help as in our business !
Hope the sun will shine next year! Regards, to all!

Farmer, what you suggest was tried in Hampshire when we were an AOE. Myself and 3 or 4 other advisors had the wonderful title of Advisor Support Specialist. Any of the other advisors could ring for help/support, and we would do some calls with new advisors. An hourly rate and mileage was agreed for any time we had to spend with new, or not so new, advisors. Any customer complaint would also be referred to us initially.
Like many good initiatives under Close Bros. this died when the current management took over.

yep, i thought that was what this site was for. To get things of yer chest, HAVE A MOAN. Like I say if we dont know there is a problem, how do we do anything about it. So are there no problems. Cant talk to anyone about it can we, because all we get is that we are the only one etc, etc,. Like i say Cheatedadvisor I will sit down and talk to anyone, top to bottom, to try and be positive. I thought working for Hillarys was the real world. I have run a succesfull business for 15 years with them. Are you happy with the way things are going then. We are self employed, but with our hands tied behind our back, only now they are putting a noose around our neck. Is that the real world ? Then perhaps I am naieve, and I should do as you say. No more moaning from me..............................

Farmer was positive following the recent Leeds/Reading meetings. What was said about recruitment?? In this area there are 4 steady long-term agents. Time has never stretched beyond 3 days mostly we are max 48 hours for customers to get seen once they ring Hillarys. GUESS WHAT? THEY HAVE ONLY GOT AN ADVERT IN OFFERING £3000 PER MONTH WORKING FOR HILLARYS IN THE LOCAL PAPER. WHO GET THE SACK?? NONE OF US... WHY DO THEY DO THIS? ? WE WILL GET SOME b*****s IN BECAUSE THE FSM WANTS TO BANG ITS DRUM AND WE WILL ALL LOSE AND THEN WE WILL HAVE TO PICK UP THE PIECES.. IF THIS IS LOYALTY TO EXISTING AGENTS FOLLOWING YOUR DECLARATIONS AT THIS WEEKS MEETINGS--HILLARYS.. THEN WHERE ELSE ARE YOU TELLING PORKIES? CAN YOU TRULY BE TRUSTED. DO THIS TO US AND EXPECT LOYALTY...eh? ?? THAT'LL BE THE DAY!!!!!!!!

why don't all the agent in your area email your fsm for a application form for this position.it may make the tit sit up and realise what he is doing. but there again I'm sure most of them go to the stupid peoples college before hillarys.

At the meeting Louisa actually told me she was setting on 2 new men/women, in huddersfield and indeed the advert is in paper. If it starts to affect my business, then we are back to square one, but as i said, only time will tell........... After another crap day with more woods to d.o.r., wrong diary info' etc, what is the point in repeating the same crap. They either do something, or i am off. The job is no longer enjoyable on the Hillarys side of things, but as i say, I will give them time to sort it, if not I am off. Maybe thats why theyve advertised. !!!! If so be it!!!! I'd rather be happy and skint, than miserable, and not quite skint ;D

This is an imprtant issue. Under The Sales agents Directive the company is meant to warn the Agent about any events that will resukt in loss of earnings.
That is why we are now Advisors

This should not affect us because of a 'name change' ... however carefully they word it, our job description is still an 'Agency'.
I think it may be time to seek legal advice!!!!!!
