Has anyone else noticed the price differential between wood and aluwood? This morning priced a wood venetian at £106. The same size blind in Aluwood came in at £204, nearly double. By contrast an Aluwood on Web Blinds in the same size is only £72

DOESN'T IT JUST MAKE YOU CRY ALLEGEDLY, There are those amongst us who order the Aluwood Blinds from Webblinds using the Customers Card details--as "Deposit". !!!!!!!! It's then Delivered to the Customers House--Advising them that it is being sent EXPRESS---DO NOT OPEN IT AS ALL THE BITS WILL FALLOUT!!! Call me when its arrived , and I will pop round and fit it and pick up the balance. Used apparently for those over 2 metres wide I wonder why Hummm!!! Works every time --On Fitting I am told they have arranged to pick up the balance in cash--as they show the Customer the Full List of £206 or whatever and say it can be got for £150 if they pay "Deposit" on a card and the Balance in Cash!! Apparently it works every time----Apparntly WebBlinds is a sort of "Trade Supplier" All seems highly irregular, and strangely Highly Profitable too. Glad none of those on here entertain such appalling underhand methods! Bear

I'll post some price comparisons from my list later, so that you can then check what is going wrong. In the meantime : - you didn't say whether the discrepancy was in your printed price list, or on SAM ? - interesting that a couple of people have already assumed that your comparison is correct, and used it to launch into another anti- Hillarys tirade. Give me a couple of hours (I've got to go fit some blinds), then I'll give you some figures to compare.

Mike, pricing was on SAM
These are the results I get
Wood 25mm 100cm x 150cm = £106 Aluwood 100cm x 150cm = £204 Web blinds wood effect 100cm x 150cm = £72
Obviously Web Blinds are not on SAM

So I guess your first job tomorrow is to sort out SAM ?

I've now checked on the same basis as Phugly and Grumpy (100 x 150 cm / 25mm) and my SAM gives pricing as :
Wood £ 136.00 Aluwood £ 142.00
I'm assuming that Grumperbear's pricing is for London, but clearly Phugly has a problem with Aluwood pricing on SAM.

Red, I was told by my FSM with his tongue firmly in his cheek that he had been told that Aluwood costs more to produce than wood

Red, I was told by my FSM with his tongue firmly in his cheek that he had been told that Aluwood costs more to produce than wood It must be those aluminium trees they get them from. Very rare!

Loaded SAM 5 last night.
Apart from being a pita today, seems very slow, needed a reset a few imes, printing has been a bugbear, the Ven prices for 100 x 150 are AW=£89 W25/35= 101 and W50=115. So although not a large difference AWs are still cheaper. Cannot see why there should be such a big difference on the N / S divide.
Paper price tables are £90, £101 and £114. Don't ask me why the difference.
