All these comments show one thing!!!!!
This current lot of pratts are living off the GOOD name of Hillarys!!!!!
Didn't this happen to M&S a few years ago when it was run by someone we all know?
Trouble is ... this company unlike M&S is too small to recover once the damage is done.
Oh! And another thing!!!!!
If this is your first Xmas with Sillarys, don't expect to have your commissions paid too soon. Don't expect your commission to come in one payment either. It'll all drip through a little at a time during January/February. Happens every year!!!!!

I have been fitting quite a lot of wooden blinds this past two weeks and I don't know if I am stupid, or whatever, but I don't get the b....y returns to fit, that is if they were included! Any tips there? Do I order the valance as standard with returns or do I have to order the valance slightly longer with returns? I really don't know, I have ordered it both ways and I still can't get it to fit!! What is the secret ? I know this might not be the place to ask, but.............. I have about 3000 pounds of blinds to fit in 3 days, that is without the 2000 pounds I am fitting tomorrow, but is there anyone in the Berkshire area that will be so kind to offer his help? I have to finish my fittings on Wednesday, because of my child minder that is closing for Christmas!! Because of late deliveries they have stuffed up my fittings schedule, but I presume that is nothing new!! I am really stuffed and would gladly share my commission if anyone might be able to help. Hie hie it is not always a good thing to be so good at selling!!! Again as previously noted, one of the daftest things a FSM can say: [glow=red,2,300] Don't worry, I will sort it out, and call you back.[/glow] HAHHHH! Promises, promises promises!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. DB I might be only one of your supposedly 125 advisors, but really, you are suppose to be a manager???!!! ?

The returns are supplied to fit on a exterior fitted blind to cover the ends and are not needed in a recess. Red

SNAP!!! Just spend an hour re-chaining a conservatory of 22 verticals ( masive big buggaire with two returns and an octagonal end --cost £3700 last December!) GUESS WHAT ---EVERY blasted chain on the sunny side had broken lugs---196 to be precise---and I broke about another 50 getting old chains off!!! And what do I get paid for this--SOD ALL Its a guarantee call love within the 12 months --down to you Blindsfitter It's under Hillary's guarantee, it is a service call, and should be paid. But we all know they try their best not to pay us for their problems, but deduct from our commission to pay for ours.

Any tips there? Do I order the valance as standard with returns or do I have to order the valance slightly longer with returns? If the blind is a recess, the blind is made 10mm shorter than the width, headrail and slats. The standard valance is straight and should fit the recess measurement. If the blind is exact, the slats are the length requested, the headrail is shorter by 5mm each side, to allow the brackets to be fitted and keep within the exact measurement. The standard valance is supplied with returns and fits around the brackets. I dump the angled brackets now supplied to be screwed on the back, and just use a hot glue gun to fix the returns. Screwfix supply a 2 part instant bond (Joiner's Mate Mitre Bond, 63935) which has been mentioned on here before and some agents find very good. Note that the returns are never long enough to go back to the wall. I think they forget to add on the depth of the velcro fixing pads. Hope this helps.

No, I am not fitting in a recess. That is for exact fittings on the outside of the window. Even if I measure the brackets to be exactly the precise position, I don't get returns in. The small bracket and screws to fit to valance takes up about 2-3mm and that moves the return out of position and it just will not fit. Thanks for the advise of the glue, will remember that. I just left the last 2 returns not fitted and the customer did not even see that. Luckily it was only one wooden but quite a long width and drop. Returns is definitely too short!

Thanx for advise , I have taken note and will take my glue with me! I had no problems with standard valance for recess measurement. At least they fit in precisely!
