Simply want to add my name and support to the long, growing list of shafted advisors who cannot believe what has been imposed.

Open letter to John Risman, Ross Kenney, et all
You must by now realise that not only has this opened a can of worms, it is turning into a nest of vipers. You must suspend the 8th may proposals, or the sh1t will truly hit the fan. Even the moderate members of this fora are up in arms about it. You are in grave danger of losing long term experienced advisors due to this. OK you can recruit more to replace us, but how long will that take ? And we all know that 80 % of new advisors last less than 3 months. For everyones sake, sort this mess out today...............PLEASE

It is now 9.30 Monday morning and Mr risman must by now know the feeling of his adviser network after his letter.unless he's some relation to Charles Clarke or john Prescott. we are all singing from the same song sheet I think ,so he should if he's any good at his job be aware of the mess his letter could get the company in. he should take a leaf out of Ross Kenny's book and give his response today by email fax text which ever we have all got them. I'm sure we are all waiting with baited breath for his response. so let it be today not in 3,4,5.weeks time you wrote the bloody thing show us what you are really made of and how good you are and respond.

Four blinds fitted so far today all worthy of a DOR. Customer has not yet seen or paid for them. I'll post the outcome later.

Hi Folks!
First, can I just say thanks again to the 37 ,yes, 37 private messages I've had from you lovely people supporting me in the future following my decision last week to sling Hillarys.
Having got back and spent an hour reading the most frantic and rewarding 72 hours of posts has been heart-warming. NOT ONE of you criticised my decision to leave, and all sympathised with my grounds for going. I am going to fit what blinds I have now and coming this week and get them all in by Thursday midday, then send off for commission and I will leggit once money is in the Bank.
I am so, so happy I have gone as the revelations in the weekend mailer and the follow-ups indicate that the sop of free paper is ludicrous in view of the open-ended ways that Colwick have come up with to reduce our income, and increase our costs and exposure in a climate of hugely rising diesel costs. One mismeasure and diesel/time costs associated with rectifying it now equal ONE YEARS SUPPLY OF PAPER---WHAT BOLLOCKS!!
Internal memos and conversations at Hillarys are tainted with the phrase-- " the advisor must share some of the down-side costings exposure of the company" and " being an advisor does not insulate that advisor from outside factors affecting overall profitability of the operation"
" The Company does not morally have to absorb all the down-side in the customer relationship--the advisor has an equal stake in the outcome and the package should relect exposure in both upward and downward directions"
i wil not prattle on any more
I AM REALLY GLAD I MADE MY DECISION.
I hope more of you make the decison to go as inevitably the way things are going will affect the sanity of the dedicated , the bank balance of the loyal, and the job prospects of the many if you all decide to leave at once as there are only so many blind jobs out there and leaving it late couldbring disappointment.
I will drop back now and again, but Ta Ta for now
A pox on Hillarys

fitted 6 wooden venetians this morning (i know i'm a mug) customer wanted controls to one side, factory makes 2 with controls on same side as per the order, 4 with them on opposite sides,(obviously just because they felt like it), customer wants all blinds the same (not an unreasonable request i'm thinking), now she doesn't mind which ones are replaced. currently i'll offer to change the 2 correctly made as thats only 2 and is quicker and easier for me and hillarys. from next week that would cost me £40. so next week i'd get the 4 replaced costing me more time and effort and hillarys the cost of remaking 4 blinds. (is this 4 dor's? £45 paid to me or 4 x first dor's? nil paid to me) mr risman and friends, this is the real world not as straight forward as it seems on a piece of paper!

A quick google for public liability insurance got me quote for £31.50p (no-claims discount offer) for £1 million cover, but the excess was £250
Several places offered quotes of £63 for the same cover as above.

Has anybody noticed over the last couple of days that -
- a number of new advisors have joined the forum
- some of the silent majority have started posting
- the number of advisors on line at any point in time is the highest level of activity we have had for months.
Obviously the mailer has ruffled some feathers and, whatever the outcome, its good to see more people standing up to be counted.

Have needed PL insurance in a previous, not too recent, life and found the NFU (National Farmers Union) to be competitive, but we should'nt need it anyway, it's Hillarys responsibility - their customer, their product, their training of their advisor who is wholly reliant on them.
£1m cover will probably not be sufficient for working in commercial properties, offices, etc., it's usually £2m+ I think.
Incidentally, I'm sure that I was told at my initial training a year ago that we had £6m cover.

If Hillarys PL excess is around the same, and say for instance 0.5% of advisors cause accidental damage each month, Hillarys could collect ?1000.......... or more........each month (negotiable with FSM,lol.) KERRCHING!!!!
Whoever dreamed up this idea could have been in line for a big fat bonus in a few months time

Hi all
I don,t post much but this is the most demotivating mailer from Hillarys since we were told we were to be responsible for, but unpaid for, quality control on tensioning Delta 7 headrails.
This is serious and needs sorting NOW!
