or is anyone else finding it depressing to go to sales calls at the moment, today i have had " got all my other blinds from Argos and wanted to see if you had the same fabric" and "want 3 for 99 but can you call again to show my daughter the colours" but she had 4 windows and wouldn't pay clouds price, and "forgot you were coming, mums gone out but you can leave a quote" and..............its the same every day, when i started at this people didn't waste your time but now appointments are so easy to get they have no value so people WILL forget and WILL go out.
Cheap appointments=cheap blinds=cheap company

Hi Kwikfitfitter
Agree TOTALLY--I have had belly full of "GHETTO BLINDS" calls today. Poor areas, poorer people, can you come after 7pm and show 'em to me husband ?? I dont think we can pay before Xmas--- and wait for it " Can you order them up, and then fit them before Xmas, and we will pay out of Decembers pay --just before New Year??? Can I Bo66ocks!
What is more worrying in fact is not the huge amount of "losers" and "ghetto blind" calls wonderfully generated by our omnipotent leaders to who all praise, blessings and wishes for longevity be conveyed..BUT the almost TOTAL lack of the usual stuff in decent 3/4 bed semi-land where a £300 total order with £100 deposit is the NORM? Where have they all gone to?
Where they HAVEN'T gone to is a pile-it-high-flog-it -quick bunch like Sillarys!!! That is seriously worrying.
The last call I did on one of them was 5 rollers ( granted all over 175cm wide in Price Table 3 fabric) which grossed at £912.00 and I discounted by 25% ( agents do that!) to £685.00 and I was shown a quote from the local guy in THE SAME FABRIC for £295.00 fitted!!!
Thats where they have gone -to the local guy!!

They have gone to other companies because they can not get through on Hillarys number without being put on hold, cos the lines are all jammed up with no hopers after Ghetto blinds. Red

Isn't today officially THE LAST DAY OF THIS AMAZING OFFER??
Perhaps that's why all farmers calls were for the 3/99
I had today as my day off for that reason. Tomorrow I can say the offer has finished.
Fan...blinking...tastic!! ;D

Now you're just getting silly!
As I've said before, whatever date you're given, whether it's a "must end by....", "will not be extended after ...", "must be ordered by ......"
It'll get extended. No question

>:(I truly believe these marketing lads at HQ need to do some Grass roots research! We dont need these silly offers at this time of year. If any customer pushes me for the 3 for 99 after 2morrow I"ll tell them its a Jan fit + 100% deposit. I know for a fact most of the competition now has a 2 week waiting for an appointment at this tome of year

With the Christmas rush well and truly underway!!!! (Not) I think its a big mistake to be offering 3 for 99 at this time of year, I just wonder how they are going to top this for the traditional January sales and were is Hillarys target market now, two years ago it was all "must go upmarket and catch the young couples with lots of disposable income" when that didn't work we went in the exact opposite direction and are targetting the scroats with disposable income, trouble is their disposable income is from the DSS and my f###king taxes.
Too much coffee makes me angry!!!

Out of nine calls today three were for ghetto blinds. One had cancelled three days ago.(thanks Hillarys)Of the other five four mentioned the 3 for 99.Two of these were 'upmarket' houses. One of whom said she felt 'duped' by the ad even when I pointed out the conditions, and would not order on principle even though the cost of the blinds was a reasonable £250. I grovelled as much as my dignity would allow (not much) and said I would pass on her comments. Finally an unexpected £500 sale. (Can't wait for their comments when I fit, and present the 25% offer, especially as they were going to order the last two after Christmas!)

I had one guy do all his own measuring. This was for 3 verticals in a conservatory. Went round and he let me measure everything up. After the lady chose a fabric and I gave them a quote. Which was £1200. He told me he had passed the measurements over the phone and got quoted £300. Cheapest under clouds was £477. If this is going to carry on then what are we here for I ask myself. They want us to go out a sell blinds then let us sell blinds and not the other way round....
