This is my second visit to this forum. Having read this thread I am amazed at the apathy and total lack of professionalism. I can only assertain that the people who are whinging could not sell toffee to the kids. Get out ! You are all in the wrong job. We are supposed to be a 'salesforce' not a bunch of ordertakers.

Have you got a real name Brazil? Or are you just going to hide behind that nut name and insult everyone else? Very constructive, I must say!! ;D

You'll all recognise Brazil at the next meeting!!!!!
You won't be able to see his face though because he's the one with just his foot sticking from out the 'back end' of the FSM .... & he'll have left his glasses on the desk! .... They are the ones with the 'Rosie Tint' on the lenses!!!!!
Echo's around the room of ... "I agree with my FSM .... There isn't a problem!"

;D I knew as I was composing that post that I would ruffle a few feathers. I do not work for my FSM, I work for myself and family. I can be terminated tomorrow as you can Greenpesto. Since this £99 theme started I have been stung just twice. The first time I managed to include a £267 Roman and the second time a £127 Venetian. I take it that you are not happy with the increase in leads and homes you are being invited into. Remember this time last year ? WE were all moaning that we had no leads. My commission this year to date is up 150%

You are well out of order on this comment Brazil. These same people that are as you say "Whinging" are the very people who are moving things forward. For the benefit of all advisor's and Hillary's alike. It is they that have initiated upgrades to Sam. Claw backs are to be looked in to and by reading the threads to a satisfactory conclusion. Commission is under review. The 10% off voucher has been stopped from going to the customer before you even fit the blinds, saving themselves lost commission and Hillary's lost revenue. Regional advertising is now better instead of blanket advertising. There are numerous other things going through at this moment, all to the mutual benefit of advisor's and Hillary's. Some of these people are Hillary's biggest sellers and could probably run rings around yourself, but they still want to see improvements. The saying Hillary's use is "If you carry on doing what you have always done. You will carry on getting what you have always had. What leading role did you play in this? Please do not come on here ridiculing the very people who are putting something back in to Hillary's. We all have family and commitments but some of us do things to improve situations. Has it ever occurred to you that your leads may well be up because of the actions of these people? That said, constructive criticism is always welcome, but not in such a personal way. Red

Can I call for a slightly conciliatory tone on this ?
Brazil...you have joined us late in the day, when we have largely consolidated as a group and are really beginning to move things forward with the company, to the benefit of all advisors and not just the forum members.
You seem to have read the thread on one subject and then jumped to the conclusion that we are unprofessional and just intent on moaning, but you couldn't be further from the truth.
However, we want you on board, we want to hear your views, and we do not expect to agree with each other on everything (how boring would that be ?), but please do investigate some more threads, take in the very positive and progressive actions that we have taken, and please try to re-evaluate the opiniion expressed in your opening post the other day.
We would like to see every Hillarys advisor on this forum, we welcome your every contribution, and we thrive on debate. I do not disagree with the other replies to your posting but I would rather throw an olive branch than drive a wedge, so stick with us.

From todays Sunday Times
Vandevelde prepares to open £340m buyout fund Richard Fletcher THE private-equity firm run by former Marks & Spencer chairman Luc Vandevelde is planning to raise a new €500m (£340m) fund.
Change Capital Partners was originally backed solely by the Halley family, one of France’s wealthiest dynasties. But the new round of fundraising will lead to outsiders investing in the firm for the first time.
In this country Change Capital Partners owns the ironmonger Robert Dyas; Hillarys Group, the blinds retailer; and Republic, a fashion chain.
Last week the firm bought Jil Sander, the loss-making fashion label, from Prada for an undisclosed sum.
In Denmark the group owns Buksesnedkeren, a sportswear wholesaler.
Change Capital Partners was established in 2002 with €300m. Two years later Vandevelde, who is chairman of Carrefour, the French supermarket chain and sits on the board of Vodafone, the telecoms group, recruited Roger Holmes, his former chief executive at M&S, as managing director.
Following the Jil Sander acquisition almost 60% of the private-equity firm’s fund has now been invested.
As a specialist fund, Change Capital Partners seeks to deliver an internal rate of return of more than 25%. However, the company has yet to get out of a single investment.
The new fundraising is expected to take place later this year or early next.
Change Capital Partners typically invests in retail and consumer companies valued at between €30m and €250m.
Jil Sander, a German designer, created her namesake brand in 1975, building a reputation for understated elegance. Prada took control in 1999 and Sander quit in 2000. Although she rejoined in 2003, she left again last year.
The relationship between Prada’s chief executive, Patrizio Bertelli, and Sander has often been strained and there have been several high-profile management clashes.
Prada has been wanting to sell the loss-making division for some time along with the fashion label Helmut Lang.
The intention now is to focus on its own brands and rebuild the business. Jil Sander should should generate some €140m in sales this year.

Mr Brazil,
I agree I am probably guilty of whining, maybe i am crap. Been in selling 40 years.Worked for much larger concerns than Hillary's.
Regrettably Direct Sales People have the worst terms and conditions of all Employees in Country.
You might say your Self Employed. what control do you have over the advertising in your area.
Do you have the ability to say I am going on that Course
Do you have control over what products you sell
Do you not have large chunks of your bussiness taken away without a phone call.
Do you receive or allocate all phone calls in your area to your sales team .
Do you control the recruitment of other advisor's.
If this answer is no you are like me a dog begging at the table of Hillary's come on feed me.
Maybe you are a strong Dog
Use your strength help weak dogs Give out tips on how to open a sale ,Convince Customers to pay the price you have asked, cerate excitement in Sales Call, Get people to like you, people buy from people they like. how to overcome objections, Close THAT SALE.
In my opinion the first Step is to have a happy Sales Force with no worries with all members earning a decent amount for the effort and commitment they put in.
In my opinion Hillary's would probably achieve more Sales with less advisor's as they could invest more in the development of each individual advisor.
How they handle it in a human manor would be the test of True Leadership..
