My last post got me thinking. Here is a little competition. Winner gets a 10% voucher of your next blinds order. ;D Question. WHAT DOES S.A.M. really stand for ?. Its just a bit of fun. Novel answers only, and no swear words. Red I reckon it could be, Scrambled Appointment Messenger. or Sadism And Masochism.

I have put my sam into its cradle in flight mode. It synchronises with my pc, but won't connect to the t'internet.
Do I have to change a connection setting in sam?
Once I have got it to connect via the pc, can i input orders without connecting to vodaphone?
Thanks.

At the bottom there's a PASS THROUGH option, select The Internet and OK. Should work then. Never tried it, but I assume if you leave the PDA in flight mode all day, all orders will queue. Plugging it in to the cradle should then pass all orders and quotes to HO without incurring data costs. You may have to REQUEST LATEST DATA on SAM to initiate this. Downside is you won't get diary updates or be able to make or receive phone calls whilst in flight mode - then again, maybe that's an advantage.

Don't expect confirmation from Hillarys with regard to transferring information via the Internet. Remember!!!! They have struck a deal with Vodafone which will have allowed for the amount of business transfered via the airways. A sudden drop in the amount of transfers & therefore loss in charges due to Internet transference will result in higher phone bills for us. All the same ... I say ....'Fu*k 'em!' .... & lets work this out between us all!!!! Anyone prepared to post a 'step-by-step' guide on how to use Activesync! ?

Does anyone know how to display/transfer photos/videos taken on SAM, on their computer. I assume it must be through Activsync but all it does is show file information, not the pictures themselves. I can't do it using My Computer in Windows and selecting "Mobile Device" either.
Many thanks

I am totally sick of Sam. I have not had my printer working properly for 2 weeks now despite ringing IT department and getting it going temperarally. Sam crashed on me after loading in 14 roman blinds in and the phone rang which crashed the system and I had to redo the lot again. I have had countless error reports and can not proccess end of day reports. I am now not bothering to get a signature as my printer will not work and I am fed up of spending time on the phone to the IT department. Any one else experiencing this at the moment.

Yesterday I lost measurements of 12 blinds (including a difficult bay), I was flicking between SAM and the outlook calendar. Today I had loads of wood vens and separate valances so after half of them I saved it as a quote then opened it again so at least I wouldn't loose all of them.
I've got to say I've had SAM over a year now, this is only the second time I've lost an order. Get printer glitches but find if turn it all off and soft-reset then it all works. Still prefer SAM compared to writing it all out and pricing it up.

Choose pic that you want to transfer and "drag & drop" into the destination file. When you open "my pictures" in SAM you will not be able to see the pic so make a note of the file name beforehand. After transfer you will be able to view, edit and print your pic. This method also works with video files.

If like me you use your SAM as your main mobile phone and are thinking of taking it on holiday with you BE WARNED the device will accept data all the time the flight mode is turned off. I took it to Spain and data usage for 1 week was £11.50 compared to £5.66 for the other 3 weeks of the charge period!!!!!!!!!!!! Also 7 calls made in Spain cost £7.55 compared with 85 calls in UK costing just £6.83!!!!!!!!!!
