Talking of 'brown nosing'!!!
We've got a small group at out meetings that every time are 'sucking up', laughing at the weak jokes made by our weak FSM, whilst agreeing with him on everything. They always try to sit as near to him too!!! This same small group have the compulsory 2 - 3 crap performing agents standing 2 paces behind them saying very little but nodding enthusiastically at everything the others say.
The main bunch always 'brag' at how good they are doing ... funny that they never seem that good on the 'stats'!!!! .... even if the 'stats' from Sillyreasons are never to be trusted.

Well said, Karen.
There are those who hide behind their user names, go to the road shows and hide at the back, too frightened to speak. There are those who freely identify themselves, go to the road shows and use the opportunity to bend an ear or 2.
Funny how the first group moan how all their failures are Hillarys fault, whilst the second group successfully sell awning, shutters and lots of blinds.

We have had the 3 for £99 and I've hated every minute of it. We're lucky not to have at the moment and if it did come back I certainly wouldn't sell it. However, what is so wrong with being positive........why can't I post when things are going great for us. I appreciate that some advisors are struggling, we've been there too and I'm sure we'll be there again but isn't that the same in most businesses. The market is always up and down and we cope as best as we can or get out...........we have the choice! I certainly don't appreciate offensive comments on this forum, some aimed at me directly too. So what if we had a good time at the Roadshow and enjoyed meeting the management team, which gave us a chance to express our concerns on a one to one basis. What's so wrong with that? Why am I in the dark.............isn't it you keenasmustard as I don't know who you are? Like I said...........we all have a choice about being in this business and if it's really that unbearable for some of you make your choice and get out. I certainly know that life's too short and if something is making you that unhappy it's not worth it. I'm not naive and I certainly know how things work, but at the moment I simply choose to be positive. I may feel differently next week, next month, next year and if I do I'll make my choice and do something about it. Like my dear old mum used to say.............if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say it all! Doesn't mean that we can't post constructive critisism tho! Karen ;D Karen, there is absolutly nothing wrong with being positive.I am not getting at you for being positive or any other person for that matter and I know being negative is a bad trait to have, but when you go out to these people day after day week after week and they have taken over your diary and you no longer see the middle income people, then it becomes hard to stay positive. When you have seen the business that you have grown and nurtured from around 250k get decimated to less than half that, it is hard to stay positive. When the 3 for 99 has run for over 18 months in your area and that is all you go out to now, it is hard to stay positive, and when you literally beg to come off it and you are told it is here to stay, it is hard to stay positive and when you dont have enough income to feed the children and pay the bills, It too, is hard to stay positive. All I can say is good luck to those of you that are doing well but watch your backs. I was there once and gave up a good job to go full time with Hillary's. Six months later they took half my area off me. Just to give some idea of the type of customer I get now. I have just comeback from the local shops where I was collard by a customer I went out to on Monday. She has since decided that she can not afford it but when I told her it was probably too late I got a mouthfull of abuse. In the middle of the shoping center. Can you imagine how this feels. I wounder why I am not positive any more. Red

Red i agree with you.
But how can a National Company only have offers in certain postcodes. ie 3-99 if its on it should be advertised Nationally, then we are all batting on an even wicket.

I would not wish it on my worst enemy Owl. Their are those that say, just dont sell it. Ok, great idea but when your diary is around 75% of these customers and you dont sell then what. They wont go up in price as they are all dolites, which incedently may well be me soon. I may need some 3 for 99 offers myself then. Red

Red i agree with you. But how can a National Company only have offers in certain postcodes. ie 3-99 if its on it should be advertised Nationally, then we are all batting on an even wicket. Why? What national company uses the same product or even the same prices across the whole country? There are regional variations in taste and style, and in disposable income. I'm fortunate in living in the south, but I pay twice the price for housing than others further north. My supermarket prices are higher, my local council tax is higher, Hillarys blinds prices are higher. Before Morrisons took over Safeway, I spoke with a store manager. He worked at the Gosport store, I lived near the Horndean store. He told me I'll pay higher prices at Horndean than in Gosport because it's considered a more affleunt area, even though we're no more than 20 miles apart.

BVM
Yes i know what you mean, But if a supermarket offer say bogof or buy 2 get 3rd free, its nationwide.. NOT subject to postcode.
And i dont wish it on anyone, just want to get rid of the demoralising gutter offer.

It was stated to us all last night that the Advisors in the South are the biggest 'whingers' of them all. I don't know why this is? Anyone got any ideas why?

But how can a National Company only have offers in certain postcodes. ie 3-99 if its on it should be advertised Nationally, then we are all batting on an even wicket. there is no such thing as a even wicket with Hillary's as long term advisor's will know. in my area we had 3499 ending 30/9 taking this into account customers think its ending then so rush to buy, only to be confronted with the marvelous selection on offer. this as we all know is followed by words like crap con and the like. we now have a new finishing date as Xmas so what do you think they will all want in their stockings this year? when I asked my fsm when this rubbish was going to stop and we could all get back to what we all do so well.selling a bloody good product(at least it was when I started 12 years ago). his reply was its here to stay so get used to it we have no better. well its about time they did, almost none of my competition sell or advertise anything so cheap but they are or seem busy. at the meeting j riseman made a big point about the sheds IE B&Q etc. but what he fails to see is that Hillary's are not a diy company they are supposed to be the country's biggest and best made to measure blind company . he is good at telling us,now prove it. DUMP 3499.

Keenasmustard, did you talk to J Risman about this and your concerns or were you too afraid of looking like a "brown nose"!?
