I never heard anything about forced availability at Bristol. My diary wasn't forced last time either when I asked for it not to be. They did ask that you try and put your fits off until December as it normally quietens down then for leads and to make the most of November by selling rather than fitting. Makes sense to me. You may have the odd customer who insists on a fit in November but many will be happy to wait as long as they have them in before Christmas. We were also asked to prioritise fits for before and after Christmas to assist producton. (No need to make blinds that are being installed after Christmas first .........priority given to blinds fit before Christmas) I think it's a personal thing with these Roadshows and you can take from them what you want, be it positive or negative. I'm much more positive and I'm sure this must be showing when I'm out on leads as I've sold 3 awnings and 6 shutters along with the normal blind sales. The more I sell, the more positive I become! ;D I like the circle I'm in at the moment!! Karen ;D

With my sample of the honeycomb blinds l have not got the clip for the cordless blind.
Missing components already.
30% of extra availability can only produce 30% more orders. But would produce less as you are rushing around from customer to customer, spending less time with each one, getting less orders, more speeding tickets. Why do they not just use up your existing availability, mine is only running at 20 to 25% of available space used. lf they force you to have extra availability and don't use it, then they should pay us for wasting our time. Super sales week would have cost them a fortune. lnstead we give them extra time/days and end up sitting around not getting paid. Hillarys should accept the risk and pay us for any unused space. After all we are a business just like anyone else.

MORNING ALL Regarding the seperation of blind fits for XMAS or NEW YEAR. Every XMAS ive done you still end up with New Year blinds coming before Xmas and blinds required before xmas not arriving. Whats the point? Last Xmas i drove to Hillarys despatch and fetched 19 venetians that were missing off my last van.

I was at Notts too. Even the Demo blinds there went wrong. The cordless Honeycomb went stiff, the woodens when pulled up looked untidy. Good job no customers where there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karen but seriously what did you think of the" new " woodenblinds and the honeycomb blinds
Reg Hi Reg Were you at Bristol last night..........if so, why didn't you introduce yourself to me?! Like we said last night, think the Wood blinds are a vast improvement on the old lot. We've been lucky enough to have been selling these the past few weeks and the Alaskan White is going down really well........probably because I really like it! The new system for over 82cm width blinds is great and makes the blinds far easier to control. We fitted our first lot last Friday and the customer was over the moon with them and so was Alan (my other half and fitter). The honeycomb blind is great if it does the job it says it will. I'm not overkeen on the pastel colours, but I'm sure there will be customers out there who love them. I like the white and beige colours. I'm sure they'll go done well with customers who don't like to see the cords running thru the 25mm and 20mm pleats and also others who want to cut down on heat loss due to drafty doors/windows. Like we were told last night, if we don't talk to our customers about these blinds they won't know too much about them and may stick to ordering traditional rollers etc.........although I must admit I love the new roller collection and the romans so will be selling loads of them in the future I hope!! (That's when I finally get the books to show the samples to the customers!) Karen ;D the reason he probably didnt introduce himself to you is in the fact you seemed to have your head so far up ******* with all the management you had the pleasure to meet.

What a lovely person you are Keenasmustard! Are you a tiny bit jealous by any chance or just a plain ignorant man. You don't even deserve a response and I certainly won't lower myself by posting what I really think of you!
You don't even appear to have the guts to show who you really are but hide behind a name which obviously isn't relevant to you in anyway!!
How old are you? Grow up.........we're not in the playground anymore!

On a more postive note we've just received our delivery and our old driver Tony is back!! Yippee ;D
Also got the roller, roman, honeycombe and more wood samples too! Just as promised on Tuesday eve by Joe Higgins member of the management team who had his ear chewed off by me for several minutes..........(that's just for you keenasmustard)!
Oh, by the way keenasmustard, because we "sucked" up so much to management John Risman has sanctioned a 24.68% commission rate just for me!! ;D

The trouble is, these "very nice management people" are the same one's who stole our commission and won't give it back. I have been asked not to keep emailing RossKand JohnR and asking for it...so I have no interest in meeting them and having a nice chat about the best way I can make more money for Hillarys. I think that was what Keenas was trying to say, but not so politely. ;D

The soul destroying, family wrecking, morale sapping 3 for 99 offer.

We have had the 3 for £99 and I've hated every minute of it. We're lucky not to have at the moment and if it did come back I certainly wouldn't sell it.
However, what is so wrong with being positive........why can't I post when things are going great for us. I appreciate that some advisors are struggling, we've been there too and I'm sure we'll be there again but isn't that the same in most businesses. The market is always up and down and we cope as best as we can or get out...........we have the choice!
I certainly don't appreciate offensive comments on this forum, some aimed at me directly too. So what if we had a good time at the Roadshow and enjoyed meeting the management team, which gave us a chance to express our concerns on a one to one basis. What's so wrong with that?
Why am I in the dark.............isn't it you keenasmustard as I don't know who you are?
Like I said...........we all have a choice about being in this business and if it's really that unbearable for some of you make your choice and get out. I certainly know that life's too short and if something is making you that unhappy it's not worth it.
I'm not naive and I certainly know how things work, but at the moment I simply choose to be positive. I may feel differently next week, next month, next year and if I do I'll make my choice and do something about it.
Like my dear old mum used to say.............if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say it all! Doesn't mean that we can't post constructive critisism tho!
Karen ;D
