Her reply, I wont order now as I know Hillbilly's will ring me and give me a 20% discount as my mum did the same. So their is a home goal. ................ 1 holding off till Hillbillies give her a substantial discount. Seeing Red Red, how long have been with Hillarys? For christ sake, just give her the 20% discount and take the order. What difference does it make to her as to who gives the discount, as long as she gets it. Tell her 20% isn't normal, she won't get it again, but end of year, blah blah and get the d**n order yourself. Do you want to be criticised for your discounts or your lack of orders? If an FSM said to me "why can quotes convert and you can't?" it's no good saying because they give 20% when you know full well that's what their going to do and you didn't do it first. I had already discounted her 20% and she knew it but still would not order as she said Hillarys will still give her more no matter how low I go so not much point pursuing it. I have been with Hillary's 10 years reaching sales of around 28 k in a month. That was before diary booking and now this crap 2 for 99 offer. When you have been out to 9 out of 10 of these customers, day after day and moral is so low it does not seem to make much difference if you do get the odd one by discounting loads. You have to be there to understand. When 3 for 99 came in around a year ago it was not too hard to sell up, but as time has gone on and customers have become price conditioned then selling up has become harder and harder and you have done well when you sell clouds. All the regular middle income people have gone to other company's and all we are left with is dross. Just thank God if you are not in the 3 for 99 areas. As mike said, 3 for 99 was meant to get rid of competition, it has not. In fact the competition in my area is now stronger and all it has done is drive me and other advisor's to the brink. I have asked my fsm if it is to continue. The reply was for the foreseeable future, yes. By the way, it is the first quote I have had converted in over a year.

Had a quote converted today - it was sent in on 20th March ! They must be ruddy desperate ! 3 windsor Blue 25mm Venetians for £147 , marked down from £263 I don't need this?

Understand Red, make sure you don't send in discounted quote. In fact, if it's not too late, I'd send a paper quote and inflate the price 20%, just to screw her up. Then if she comes back to you, well she had the chance, 20% no longer available.
Fortunately, I haven't had the 3/£99 for several months now, and have been assured it won't happen again - but who knows? One thing we all know about Hillarys, is if they can't think of something new, then fall back on what didn't work last time, or the time before. What Mike was referring to earlier is that we have a new FSM with new ideas, who we have to hope isn't over-ruled. All it takes is the change of a single key manager, and all history will be forgotten.

Hereticus? Are you talking about the garage doors we'll soon be asked to sell? I need a new garage door. I backed my car in to my one. Perhaps I'll get TS in to quote, they'll probably be automatic, so I could ask them how I can be sure the Hillary delivery drivers get access ;D

If he's new then they wont listern to him because they know best If he's moved it may be that he's f*cked up his last area so bad that they moved him, just like my last 4 did to me. its been said on here more than once just recently fsm's have no say anymore and its true , they are just the go-between fromh/o and us

Just as a follow up to my last post and to show what I mean. 2 leads this after noon. First one was as sure as eggs are eggs was going to be 3 for 99. Spot on. Kid was going through my kit bag and dragging everything out, dog was yapping and house was a mess. First thing out of her mouth was, " I only want the 3 for 99" and straight away picked lace. Once I showed her the true 3 for 99 she said no, I am not having that tat, I want lace. It says 3 for 99 on this add and nothing about colors. I picked up my bag, grabbed all the stuff the kid had thrown around the room and went. Second customer was an order, whoopee, a roller for 69 pounds then offered me a 10% off voucher. So all in all, around a tenner minus my expenses. Just to finish of on a slightly better note. I had a paranormal experience later, I had an e mail saying that one of my quotes has been converted and I thought quotes department was just a figment of someones rabid mind. Now lets see what wounders await me on this evenings two trips in to the Hillarys twilight world. Red Why dont you take the scum bags post codes away then you wont have to go into these areas?.Personally i wouldn't stop my car in these types of places as i may at least catch something or at most have my car stolen. So my advice young man would be to (A)remove scumbags postcodes and (B )remove all trace of 3 for 99 from your samples why oh why haven't you thought of this ?but maybe i feel your sales technique may be the issue here ,gripeing back to figures of 4 years ago just does not cut it with me as in those affluent times a monkey could sell blinds .

This reminds me about Roller Blinds - some of us will remember the fabrics that would NOT roll up square ! Think about the old 'harmony' roller fabric , it was so thick and springy that it would not roll tightly ! Utter Cr*p !
The answer is ....... ANY fabric that you can't get on with , produces too many D/O/R's , or is at a 'silly' price ...... then remove them all from your presenters . End of Problem . Simple really !
I have been doing it for years , Hillary's are non the wiser!

Had a quote converted today - it was sent in on 20th March ! They must be ruddy desperate ! 3 windsor Blue 25mm Venetians for £147 , marked down from £263 I don't need this? Looking on my SAM diary for Mon, I see a fit I didn't recognise. It turned out to be a quote left on 17th Aug for Verona Natural 3.5Vet. What caught my eye initially was the fitting note "cust said agt told cust to book fittn" What the hell does that mean says I. Checked received invoices again, no. Not there. Checked store for delivery, no. Not there either. Checked tracking report. Ahh!. It's there. Waiting components. So 1. Who processed the order 2. Was it oos before they processed the order. SAM would not allow it to be selected if oos. 3. Why did I not receive the usual letter claiming convesion. 4. Who put in the fit date with that note, that seems to indicate I have been negligent in contacting the customer. 5. What mug is going to have to call the customer and grovell, I don't have her blind or invoice, or any idea what Hillarys have charged for it. But never mind, she will no doubt qualify for another massive discount. Anyway. the reason for the rant, is to check, that after such a long time, the fabric is not oos and the scenario above is not repeated for you.

Hereticus? Are you talking about the garage doors we'll soon be asked to sell? Or about the car ports (white PVC canti-lever style fitted to house only) that were going to be a big seller. They never made it here.

RUSSELL as one of those going part time. I am my areas only specialist, i too have a good self gen base built up too. Yes i told my FSM i was cutting down the reason was i am not enjoying the job anymore because OF HILLARYS. He and I know he cant afford to lose me altogether as none of the other advisors want to take the step up to being a speciaist as they are only part time themselves. We are also lucky that we dont sell too many 3 for £99 but i am mainly sick of running round for Hillarys like a headless chicken. Too many DOR'S, CLG giving me the runaround, other advisors thingy ups to name but a few.

I'm a specialist too & full-time.
But from the early days with Hillarys when I could work 7 days a week easily, I now find myself reducing from 5 days down to 4. In fact, I'm close to the point whereby I can do all my Hillarys stuff with-in 3 days.
I normally have a full day selling on Mondays & Tuesdays with fitting on a Wednesday or Friday. The rest of the week is short on leads & has been this way for a few years. Weekends in this area are a waste of time & effort.
I now have to consider an income from another source just to fill my time.
The increased availability I gave has fallen flat on its face as I knew it would & I find myself scratching around for leads. The quality of most are now so poor I shall struggle to pay this months mortgage.
I've always been here for Hillarys but they just don't want to be here for me!!!!
