HI ALL. Before putting it straight through my shredder. My self management report caught my eye. I noticed for the past year there were 102 DOR'S that were not my fault. Imagine 102 X £15(service call) = £1530. OK i accept a percentage of these maybe were a louvre posted direct to a customer or i might have been going back to fit more blinds anyway. But it certainly shows with just one advisor they will never compensate us properly for their mistakes.

Hi Dolly DOR's by head office on my report this month tally up to 193 so far this year.............no wonder we feel like we're always chasing our tails! Just think..........193 x £20 = £3860...........wouldn't it be just great to charge that to Hillarys. By the way, my advisor errors for the year to date total 15 so would have cost me £300 if on new system. Due to the back lash I've received about this I've decided to clarity here that only a few of these were actual mismeasure's, the majority were customer disputes and some were head office error that were put down as advisor error as wrong code inputted on system! I know I'm not perfect but I'm pretty d**n close to it tho!! : Just doesn't seem very fair but hey ho that's way of big business (or little business for some of us who don't have as many leads as we like!!)!! Also, to whoever posted advising Red to take out the "scum" postcodes from his diary.............it's not that easy mate! Unless you live in an area of the UK where all the "scum" live together in one postal code! This would make our lives so much easier! Unfortunately, in real life, you can have "scum" living a few streets away from "decent". If i deleted the postcodes of my horrible streets I'd have no post code areas left! K ;D

'Thelloydgang!!!! I don't want to appear rude to you, or make you feel uncomfortable ... but ... x15 Adviser errors in a year? If that is all mis-measures then you really could do with some help!! I've had no more than around 6 in 8 years!!! Do you use your measuring pole? Do you use 'brackets' to mark out where to measure? Do you fit everything you measure yourself? Is it a case of your fitter not fitting to where you measured? Are you reporting errors or blind remake requests properly? Can I, or anyone else here be of help? Surprisingly though, I have only had x50 DOR's this year as a full timer compared to your 193 DOR'S. Whether it is 10, 50, 150 or 193 DOR's it is all unacceptable coming from a company with Hillarys experience!!!! Could this 193 perhaps be that some errors could be sorted quickly on-site by whomever fits the blinds rather than requesting a DOR? Are you still selling wooden venetians which would give you a high DOR figure? This is NOT a knock at you ... but a concern!!!

K ;D If you understood how diary maintainance work with postcodes yes you can target scum areas and take them outeg LE41 5TR would take out 3 streets in a rough area but LE41 would take out the whole area, and of course most scum live together ::)and 15miss measures in a year is precisely the reason the fine was upped to £20 from £7.50 its supposed to be a deterant ,but in your case obviously not

by 2p worth. dont get bogged down with mismeasures meaning mismeasures, It could be using sam and hitting beige rather than brown h.rail, even wrong colour fabric, so measuring advise is prehaps the least worthy advise that could be given.
What annoys me is that on monthly sheets 1 advisor error is given as a % of orders but DOR's are not. I.E. I had 4 last month = 8% but had 36 dor (no wood), therefore hillarys say 1 error = 2% so 36 = 72% nonsense obviously. by the why 3 of the advisor errors were in fact another agents i had just been sent to correct and had to raise dor's.
another thing is even with the best will in the world it is daft to suggest that any DOR is bad for Hillarys. Human error will always cause an issue, wether its advisors, data input for non sam users production workers, despatch etc. Im not suggesting that current levels are acceptable but I do believe that DOR's are not only unavoidable but are inevitable. ALso the odd prob can work in the company's favour. I.E. it is a way of measuring how the company deals with the customers who have a problem, now this is an area of concern, Hillarys are rubbish at dealing with ongoing problems and their systems certainly needed to be tightned up.

Greenpesto
Don't worry you're not making me feel uncomfortable at all about our advisor errors. Many of them were customer disputes which unfortunately, as you are aware, unless you have a very understanding FSM it goes down as an advisor mismeasure! Most are for 2005 and have had none since Mar 2006!
Have sold shed loads of blinds for Hillarys, almost 200k which equates to approx 2200 blinds so far this financial year if the figures are correct on my MSMR. Am not ashamed one bit by admitting 15, less than 1% are put down to advisor error although majority of them have been disputed! Bearing in mind Hillarys errors on my orders have been 9%! ;D

Hi Greenpesto Was too quick to reply to your posting re mismeasures and hadn't read the rest about fitting! Alan (my other half) fits the blinds for me and we don't have a problem there I can assure you! The 193 figure could have been much higher if he wasn't so handy in repairing a lot of blinds in situ...........A lot of these were wood venetians around Xmas particularly going back time after time to the same customer!! We even bought touch up pens for the wood to colour in!! Our kids loved the job!! We've had this problem with head office errors ever since I can remember............last July and August 2005 we had 42 one month and 45 the next.............didn't know what hit us.........no wonder we were so busy!!! Yes I've still continued to sell wood venetians and the past few months have seen an improvement in them although we are now selling the new wood venetians but have yet to install our first order! Thanks for offering your help and expressing your concern but we're coping quite nicely on our thanks.........don't worry tho..........you'll be the first I'll turn to when I get stuck!!! Karen ;D

Uncle Hillary...........you obviously don't know me do you!! I expect a lot of regulars who post on this Forum are thinking.......watch out..........she's gonna blow!!! You come across as really ignorant and not a very nice Uncle at all! Your posts so far, which I see are very few and anonomous also, seem very aggressive. You must have an unusual FSM if he'll allow you to take out individual streets from your post code area..........I along with many others I suspect, were under the impression that only the whole post code could be taken out of your diary.......but if this is the case then I'm sure diary maintenance will be clogged up with phone calls next week with agents asking for streets to be taken out of their diary!!! As for me being responsible for the hike in the mismeasure fine........I haven't laughed so much in ages.....finally Head office have taken notice of me!!! ;D Out of interest Uncle..........oh I'm sorry, I just don't feel comfortable calling you that..........it reminds of a dirty old man....... how many blinds have you sold this year and what % has been your mismeasures? I won't ramble on now but please do read my postings to Greenpesto..............he was much much nicer and wouldn't have any problem calling him "Uncle"! Karen

Right........off to bed now to dream about nice old "Uncle Hillary" Nite nite all ;D Karen

'thelloydgang'
As for the new Woodens ... please let us all know what they are like once you've fitted them!
I for one am very pessimistic over the improvements we've been promised with regards to these.
As for 'UncleHillary' I would agree that his/her manner appears to be a little 'Off' at times! It is however, sometimes difficult to put across in writing what you really mean as we can't hear the tone of the individual voice or the look on their face when it is said.
We must accept too that not everyone on this site is as they seem. Some are instinctively 'sh1t stirrers'.
Not everyone can be the 'affable Uncle' that would like to bounce you on his knee just as I would do .... but hey!! ... not everyone is as cute & lovely like me either!!!!
As far as post-code selection is concerned we are told by the FSM's that it has to be the whole post-code or not at all. Again, this is untrue because I have it that you can go as far as selecting sub-postcodes.
We really should have this option because as far as I'm concerned I could cover a larger area which would help the FSM & the company in areas that I know to be difficult to cover. This would also help me avoid the dreaded 'scum bag' areas.
Regards
Uncle GP.

Karen, Ask our nice Paul about the postcode thing..... he told me I could select "parts" of postcodes. I suspect they don't actually want everyone to do that though......SO...... let's all do it !!!! Joy
