Had a telephone call from a newly set on advisoress, in my patch today.
Our f.s.m. has asked her to ask me if I would take her out on sales and fits for a day or 2 to show her how to go on.
Anyone tell me what i should do.

Whats wrong is the induction training that bad these days. Is she fitting as well ? I would agree with Victor unless you have too many leads to handle. MM

Your FSM should have sounded you out about this first! In my opinion , with respect for the New Advisor , its every man ( or lady ! ) for themselves ! No i would not take the newbie out ! Hillarys are not paying you to do that , and ultimately it will cost YOU money in the long run . Explain to the new advisor that it is just not possible at this time . I'd have to agree with Aries & Victor on this!!!!
Why should we take these people out & not get paid for it!
I've taken one out a few years ago ... he was a nightmare!!!! ... wouldn't keep his mouth shut on leads, asking questions over customers conversation etc. Needless to say I had a poor sales day that time .... NEVER AGAIN!!!!
I'll help anyone out with brackets or advice etc unless it costs me time & money then ... no thanks!!
Oh! & that Advisor that wouldn't shut up!!! ... He's still the same at sales meetings even now!!!

Anyone tell me what i should do. Depends on how you feel regards giving free training to a newbie on your patch.!!! Are you being paid for it? They will delay you.. Only benefit is to Company and FSM Where is benefit to your business? This might be the start of a buddying plan by Hilarys to get us all to take newbies out, therefore allowing them to cut down on training?? FORGET IT?? Nonails

HERES A QUESTION FOR SOME OF YOU MORE EXPERIENCED AMONGST US.
Just got back from giving a quote, again!!.
3 rollers 275 cm wide in Acacia Ice, no shape.over 500 pounds.
Lady had another company in at 250 pounds with shapes.
Question is this. Do you beat the quote and half the price and add shapes giving her a massive 60 to 70% discount so reducing your aov, which remember is being heavily scrutinized at the moment. Or do you walk away, reducing your sale to quote average, which is also being heavily scrutinized at present. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Stitched up like kippers with no where to turn.

And will you get the order if you drop? Or is she like most punters just lying her socks off to shaft everyone? Only fit it if worth it to you, mate, Hillarys costs price for these blinds is under £20.00 each ex factory nett.. They dont lose out, they just make less!!! Be sure FSM aware of price disparity, feed it back to Colwick, but as no one there gives a sod( or appears not to anyway) why waste the effort? Dodgybracket

Just spoke to fsm as you wrote back. Seems genuinely concerned. This is not a one off, as I am sure you are all aware. Just a prime example. Red

Red!!!
Dodgy is correct!
Is it worth you doing the job for £36 commission?
If it is then just add to the order that it is a beat-a-quote & don't worry!!!!
If the customer is trying to 'pull a fast one' then why not say that you can't quiet get to that figure but would they meet you half way? If they are genuine then they normally come up with the extra money! e.g. Had one yesterday ... sale price was £350 they wanted to pay £250.... Offered them at £290 & got the order.

Red had a similar one the other day, 2 x 2.6m acacia rollers, no shapes, customer was dictating where she wanted the joins, how she wanted them fitted, which i tried to point out wasnt possible so she finaly agreed that my suggestion for fitting was better. then sam said............£341.00. the other company say they can do them for £150.00 says she....... ok, bye. entered 'no product of interest'......... ;D

No,you are all missing the point. Yes I could have easily dropped the price by more than half and got the order, but my aov figures go down with repercussions. Same thing if I walk away. My quote to sale figures are down with repercussions. So which ever way I go as far as Hillary's are concerned I am either giving too much discount or not a good salesman. That is the dilemma facing us now. Red
