Sorry Russ, I've been fitting roof blinds. Haven't got woods yet, but know somebody who accidentally picked up a sample book at Guildford, so I'm borrowing that tomorrow for a customer.
As to organisation of launch, Ray (RIP) rang me last week to say they're available from 30/10, but SAM update is available from 23/10. Funny, says I, I've just received a mailer saying they're available from 16/10. So there's 3 different dates. Perhaps we could run a competition, which product has the most launch dates.

Ching chong china lucas told me the 24th oct but as you were at the same meeting and heard the usual expectations of thingy ups who knows perhaps we should ask the office cleaner they may well know

I haven't mine either and van came today so another week with no old stock and no new samples. I also have a numbers of customers waiting. But worse than that missing 14 woods for fitting and as I said van came today, could be goodbye to a £3k order unless they sort them out.
Didn't JR say in January that they'd lessons from the last year and one was not to change or introduce new products before Christmas ? May be is not in December this year.

Wonder who is in charge of this launch would it be the same bod in charge of the wooden venetian fiasco perhaps their time is nigh the fools as usual have started a new product on the wrong foot mr risman look into this and you may get your 20% growth

Received the wood samples today and the different size samples of the same wood are the same colour !! That's an improvement from last time, hope the rest of the experience will be (from speaking to other advisors I'm hopeful. Just need to get these missing 14 blinds.

Hi all. To those of us more experienced in roofs than me. In January i am measuring and fitting in a wooden Victorian conservatory roof. Having done plenty of PVC roofs in the past this will actually be my first wooden. Obviously it will be fitted between the deep wooden rafters. What is the best way to approach it, assuming the wood is straight. Is 20mm or 25mm the better in this case? And if i do 25mm as its a dark brown wood is there a side fix bracket for 25mm? Thanks in advance.

i've stopped bothering with either face fix or snap brackets. was wasting so much time and energy building them snap brackets, and face fix caused problems with slipping etc. i now just put top fix into pvc and fit side rails flush into frame. ie you look straight onto the adjusting screw that takes the allen key. gives a really neat finish and no gaps in coverage as fabric is pulled over the side rail and not up to it if fitted as per training centre instructions. if there is a problem with the rails sliding down i place 1 snap bracket at bottom to hold it in place, again it is hidden (bvm suggested this to me a while back). I've done god only knows how many roofs like this, since GBs great suggestion, but only 3 jobs ago realised another easy tweak. If the side rail is sliding down under tension, position the rail correctly with little tension, drill a hole in the rail where there's no filo behind it, put a screw through the rail in to the roof beam, and tension as much as you like - it ain't going to move, and the screw head looks no different to a tensioning screw from floor level. Just don't tighten it too much or it will distort the rail I've heard GBs method is now used as standard training at Nottingham
