Hi there Reginald........where abouts in the country are you based and do you have other advisors in your area?
When we went quiet I checked how the others were doing and then contacted Rose Haines (i think that's the lady in marketing) who deals with the advertising. I found that the advertising wasn't quite right for our area. Things have picked up as you can tell. 11 leads yesterday and 10 leads today...........feeling knackered tho and don't want to go out on my 4 leads this evening! As I type I'm still waiting for hubby to come home and take over kids so I can go out!! Looks like it's gonna be another late one!!
Might be an idea to check with diary maintenace that your postcodes and availability are still set up ok and speak to your FSM...........that's what they're there for contrary to some believes!!
Good luck and hope your diary leads soar sky high soon.........although how on earth do you manage to fit 5 leads in the Eve..............I struggle to manage 4! You must be Superman to my not so Superwoman!!
K ;D

SNAP ;D Just bought a 4mt one as well, and from the same place Thought once the small end starts sliding back in, it'll still work as 3mt pole. Another big advantage of buying from these instead of Hillarys .......... NEXT DAY DELIVERY. Hillarys sometime maybe next month Bit tight in the case though

Who's VAT registered? Is it worth it? When I started this thread last November, I'd just become a Ltd company and was pondering, but wary, of going VAT registered. The general consensus seemed to be to avoid it unless essential, as you were little more than an unpaid tax collector, working for the Fat Controller. Cash flow improved, but you would be more likely to be subject to investigation. Having just met with my accountant, I'm now having second thoughts, and here's why. If my income is £1,000 and I spend £350, my company profit is £650, of which I can take 80% as dividend, leaving 20% corporation tax. So I get £520. If I'm VAT registered, Hillarys will add VAT to my commission, but my income will still be £1,000. From my £350 expenditure, I can claim £52 VAT back, leaving me £298, so my company profit is now £702, of which 80% is £562, giving me an extra £42. So anyone who's been registered for some time ......... IS THIS RIGHT? IS IT WORTH DOING? Anything that diverts money from Gordon Brown to my pocket seems a good idea. Having spoken with my accountant, the above is right, but there's also a flat rate scheme available for small businesses. What you do is claim VAT on your commission, then pay a flat rate back to the VAT man, regardless of your expenditure. It means you don't have to keep seperate VAT records and balance your VAT recieved and spent. My accountant thinks we would be in the 10% band, which means ...... for every £10,000 commisssion, we claim £1,750 VAT from Hillarys, giving us a total of £11,750. We pay the VAT man 10% or £1,175, leaving us £575 better off. This explains it customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_InfoGuides&propertyType=document&id=HMCE_CL_000345#P205_21284

BVM Doesnt it nearly cost you the £575 you gained using an accountant? Nope, the accountant will charge me £100 (+ VAT of course) to set me up, then there are no additional accountancy charges. Every 3 months I invoice Hillarys and pay the VAT man either by cheque or electronically. There's also a 1% reduction in the first year, so you only pay 9% to start. I'm full time and run a fairly successful agency, producing around £300k of sales per year. I reckon doing this will gain me around £2.5k/annum - money for ME not the Fat Controller Gordon Brown. Book keeping is pretty simple, but if you miss or pay late, you'll be fined
