BE AWARE, If you are an advisor who is doing well and may be near getting a little pat on the back, DO NOT phone up HO and get your SELF GEN work put onto your sam device. I have done more self gen work than leads provided in last 3 weeks and stats do not show them. It will only show you have been given work by HO. That stinks so if you want to look good put paper orders in for self gen work then the credit for the effort will be placed where it is deserved, WITH YOU..
PS. for the HO office viewers. This will only slow the process down and will mean you wait longer for your money. If thats what you want thats fine. If not address this issue.

There is a way around this problem. I do agree that if you phone in to get your self generated leads booked into your SAM diary they do not generally show as being your leads and therefore presumably you do not get the extra credit when Hillarys calculate your conversion rate or your lead effect.
However, if you take the option of downloading the customer database for your postcodes into your SAM unit (check with IT for details of how to do this), then you can enter your leads directly into SAM ad when it shows up in your diary it is coded as SLF rather than APP, so obviously some differentiation is being made.
I don't, however, know how this is then treated internally when producing statistics and, as 'lead effect' is now going to become a critical factor in determining what leads are allocated, it would be better to be cautious.
Perhaps Mellisa would like to take this on board by explaining exactly how 'lead effect' is going to be calculated. If she can reassure us that only factory generated leads are taken into the calculation then we can utilise SAM and the diary system to best effect rather than having to try to outwit the system.

Can the moderators for this forum please do something about the awful 'spelling corrections' that it makes - the system is far too sensitive.
A previous message referring to the dialect spoken by those born within a mile of Bow Bells came out as 'thingyney', and today a simple everyday word meaning 'to put our minds at rest' came out as 'rebehindure'.
Will we have to resorts to the use of asterisks throughout every message - if so, I'm glad my area doesn't cover Scu*thorpe !

I've altered the censored list to read 'whole' words, it should be less sensitive now.
