Mottors If you had things planned and they are important to you then just do adviser not available on SAM and DM will rebook them when they are back in. Blinds are not that important to people that they need a bank holiday appointment, on the other hand if you are not doing much that day then do them if the weather is bad. If the weather is good then half of them will be out and forget you are even coming. You are self employed so it is up to you, and its your bank holiday as well you know, so your decision. Red

My availability's been up and down faster than a tarts draws. First is was all there Then it was all gone Then I put a limited amount back in Then it was all back in Then I took some of it out, but not before someone booked a lead where I didn't want it. So what do you think? Ignorance or total arrogance by who ever makes these pathetic decisions in isolation, then goes off on holiday

Motters!
I can't believe you'd even consider giving up your day off because some idiot decided to alter your availability!!!!!
It's your life & your self-employed status ... so go on my son .... ignore it all & let CLG take the hassle.
I wouldn't have even bothered spending my money on the transfer data cost on SAM to say I'm unavailable for that!!!!!
How dare Hillarys Management dictate to you or anyone!!!!

MOTTERS The same thing happened to me thats why i posted a warning here on Friday. When you speak to diary maintenance they confirm availability is automatically taken out now for B. HOL MONDAYS but as in your case and mine, somebody has decided to unblock it. I only happened to find out Friday Pm when a lady from Central Leads rang to confirm was i working Monday! She seemed as surprised as me to see availability in.Rang Dm immediately and got them to remove 1 appt already in. Im sorry this doesnt help you much and that is has left you in this situation but you and your family should come first. Blow the blinds for one day.
Ps many moons ago i remember working my first B.HOL MONDAY and 1 customer said "What are you doing working today of all days?" Can you think of the reply i gave?

thing is, I always used to work them ( I know -silly me ! ), but have kind of got used to the odd day off as I'm doing 5 1/2 right now so the weekends go quick.
I've sorted out most of the mess myself ( see above --silly me-- quote ! ) .
It really does suck when this sort of things happen as it is the customer who also gets the short end of the stick because HQ can't sort things out.
I don't like to let people down and have built up a very good rep in the town because of it.

One thing I have noticed in the last few weeks, more and more of the appointments that come through are repeat customers rather than new ones.
All very nice that they come back, but where are the new people ?
Are we not getting the advertising right to attract new customers and just surviving on old ones ?

Pity the rest of Hillarys dont have your attitude to their work Dolly, any one on a salary or monthly wage will never have the same drive and determination as someone that relies on every sale for an income. This is why Hillary's are on a downward spiral. No disrespect to some at H/O as I know they do try, but without that need to succeed, so to speak, it does not matter. At the end of the month they will still pick up their wage no matter what happens to you or I or any other adviser. All part of taking the control from the adviser and placing it in someone else's hands. Red

MOTTERS Its a good question. Not a problem in my area. But again i know of cases of new people put off by the attitude of call centre and have somehow got my number directly through previous customers.

Mine is the opposite Mottors. All new 3 for 99ers or not ins and very few repeat customers. One thing I have noticed though, and I have commented earlier, and that is that my sales to quote from clg leads is abysmally low compared to my own leads. So is the average order value, and I can speak from prior knowledge of diary booking as I was on it once before and the same thing happened then. It was only after almost begging to come off it that my sales went back up again to double that of being diary booked.

Another reason could be and this is what several customers have said, is with us advertising 50% off etc all year round( like DFS.) People are becoming more scepticle about genuine sale prices. Obviously Hillarys use it as a tempter to get us in the door. Though at the minute the wrong doors!!

Obviously Hillarys use it as a tempter to get us in the door. Though at the minute the wrong doors!! Dolly, I dont think that is the main problem because there are loads of companies doing the same thing near me and I know a few of the local reps for them and they have never had it so good, or so they say. People have always asked me are you busy, and I have always been able to say truthfully, yes. I can still say that now but busy for all the wrong reasons like going to houses that should be knocked down never mind lived in and people that dont give a d**n that you are booked to see them and go shopping instead. I am greatly against diary booking and always have been and make no secret of the fact, I also have always said that if Hillary's go down this path they will end up in deep trouble. When they tried it in several areas, (the areas of excellence), it worked great, but that was because their was only three areas to deal with and if you are building a house of cards, its not too difficult to build one. Try building three and it gets a little harder, but not impossible. Try building 850 of them at the same time and they will all come crashing down no matter how many poeple, how fast or how hard you try to rebuild them. Red
