Have seen on recent tracking report a D/O/R order for 30 vert louvres that i personally did not order. I checked back via the original order number to find that i fitted these 2 blinds in MAY 2004. Customer had complained the fabric had frayed after washing. With no consultation to me 30 replacement louvres were ordered. Subsequently the louvres did not arrive on my delivery due to the fact the fabric is now un-available (suprise suprise). Today cust care finally put me in the picture asking for me to do a service call so that customer can choose new fabric. After debate i will be paid £20 to visit and another £20 to fit the replacements. What hillarys dont know is that there is several windows all in the same room , so ALL will need new louvres , this totals about 70 louvres ! My concerns are as follows.... 1) Surely as the orignal supplying agent , i should have been consulted about this from the start? 2) Were hillarys just EXPECTING me to go out and fit the louvres 3)Why were they being relaced F.o.C after near on 2 Years of wear? (at least 1 full year out of warranty?) 4) Who is responsible for the cost of the (now) 70 louvres and £40 payment to me ? 5) Most Importantly ...How often is this scenario played out to other agents??? Check your tracking reports as they arrive for this new scheme ...PHANTOM D/O/Rs ! ! !

Unfortunately another example of what I've said before - every man, woman and dog at H/O can give away cash and freebies - totally out of control.
Were these actually washable fabrics, or did customer just decide to try them? Bet C/C didn't even bother to check.
I've spoken to a couple who are good and resist unreasonable demands, but many either see themselves as part of social care or just want to get rid of a moany customer.

The fabric in question was Christy Fudge , so yes was washable and customer was given the care booklet / washing instructions. The customer is a heavy smoker and i guess these blinds have been washed many times . How much washing can they take?

I believe that some (not all) of the people in Customer Care have no idea how to deal with customer complaints and will agree to anything the customer wants in order to get them off the phone
