If the wiondows are that high, remember the new european "Working at Height Directive". The customer will have to install and pay for proper access equiipment, scafolding or cherry picker". Remember HSE requirments.

HI ALL Spoke to a pleasant lady in DEBT RECOVERY last week as i have one customer who cannot afford to pay now. She said she has never been so busy! What does that say about the kind of customer Hillarys attract these days.

What does that say about the kind of customer Hillarys attract these days. As we don't get paid if THEY don't pay...... I always ask for the whole £99 (wow!) on any 3 for £99 jobs, on ordering. As the customer rarely has the money until giro day, it is a good way to get out of the house. That's if they want pink or green in the first place! ;D

It just makes sense that if you are selling to people who demand the lowest price regardless of quality then they are not discerning, and quite probably not reliable. I'm sure that most of the workload in Debt Recovery is for small amounts resulting from these give-away promotions. Who do we need to speak to at Nottingham to get this adopted as a condition of all super-cheap deals, so that it is clearly stated in the adverts and flyers ? Unusually for me (because after 15 years I know a lot of head office people) I don't know who makes this sort of policy decision, but if they are giving the blinds away for nothing and then not getting paid anyway it just seems like common sense.

How about thie for a new slant on cheap offers Visited customer today greeted with a request for Orion Rose. Sorry says I but I dont have that available. At this point the nice young lake flips on her computor which has Deal of the days on Web blinds. Any size vertical for £29 per blind . I attempt to explain that although Hillarys and Web blinds are sister companies they operate indepentantly Then the nice lady flips to the home page which has both Hillarys and Web blinds side by side. Dont you think that is confusing then . Politely showed her Clouds etc and left. Taking measurements with me. Why do these people in H/O think things through On a finishing note I was accosted outside her home by 2 yobs asking for my mobil. My response is not repeatable on this forum but it is quite difficult to extract a bicycle from you know where !!!!!
