I've just scanned through the moans about the £99 offer. (Yes I am that sad, and no I've nothing better to do because of the number of late deliveries). Although this runs to 6 pages, only 22 out of 130 registered advisors have contributed to it. In all walks of life, there is a vocal minority who can be dismissed by Hillarys as the "awkward squad" and ignored, " ....... because 83% of the advisors are obviously happy with the current offers".
So if the other 108 advisors are happy with the £99 offers, say so, and perhaps us 22 will be out voted. If not, say so and add your weight to subject.
I discovered this web site a week ago and think it's great. I've been with Hillarys 16 years and this is the first time I've seen any attempt by advisors to voice a concerted opinion. I just feel Hillarys are paying lip service to it due to the small number of contributers.

I'm with you on this one Grey. I think a lot of those who have joined may be afraid of contributing because they may be "found out". I would encourage anyone who has an opinion on anything to do with Hillarys to have their say, whether it be good or bad

Yes greyvanman………….. I think your right, some people may be frightened to have a say, because of the come back off hillarys, there can be very crafty when their want to get rid. But if it can be made clear that all the advisor would back any advisor that may be targeted for speaking out, then this forum can do nothing but good for all the advisors, but weather we can change the way hillarys think that remains to be seen, I hope we can, because letting us get on with the job would benefit hillarys anyway. And for any one reads from HO, WE ARE SELF-EMPLOYED STOP TELLING US WHAT TO DO. And the 3-99 is a crap offer for you and us; nobody is winning except the customer.

Yes you are right, stick together, back one another up if there is any comeback against advisors. l see a few agents have put their real names up.
Hillarys want self-employed people ( its cheaper for them, and they can get rid of you anytime they want ), but want to treat you like employed people.
This 3 for £99 is not good, for anyone. Leads are up 60% of which 20% are 3 for £99 leads. So 40% increase are non-3 for £99. That 40% increase is good, my diary is fuller which is good, just get rid of the 3 for £99

If Hillary's management are reading the posts on this forum, i wonder if any would like to form a break away company , which offers customers realistic prices , and the agents decent commission in a staight forward business like way .
I,m sure there is a workforce here just waiting for it !

just a quick note from me on this - I am the only one who has access to people's details so nobody should be affriad to say what they think.
But on the flip side, the last thing I want this foru mto be used for is for just slinging mud.
It is here as a benefit for all.
HQ - will take note I'm sure.

I agree mud slinging shouldn’t be the only topic on this forum, but at this moment in time hillarys have caused a lot of negativity with the advisors out in the field, we are constantly told what to do, how to do it and in not so many word what happens if we don’t and there call this been self-employed, the structure of this job was set out by hillarys in the first place, you can’t change the goal post now specially for the long term agents , it seems everybody treated differently , take the bonus for instance some get it other don’t, what do thing of the following. I think we can say yes to a bit of both. The truth is I haven’t got a clue which I am. Employed or self-employed? Employed or self-employed? Employee If you can answer 'Yes' to all of the following questions, you are probably an employee. · Do you have to do the work yourself? · Can someone tell you at any time what to do, where to carry out the work or when and how to do it? · Do you work a set amount of hours? · Can someone move you from task to task? · Are you paid by the hour, week, or month? · Can you get overtime pay or bonus payment? Self-employed If you can answer 'Yes' to all of the following questions, it will usually mean you are self-employed. · Can you hire someone to do the work for you or engage helpers at your own expense? · Do you risk your own money? · Do you provide the main items of equipment you need to do your job, not just the small tools many employees provide for themselves? · Do you agree to do a job for a fixed price regardless of how long the job may take? · Can you decide what work to do, how and when to do the work and where to provide the services? · Do you regularly work for a number of different people? · Do you have to correct unsatisfactory work in your own time and at your own expense?

I would like to be added to those who have not one single positive thing to say about 3 for 99. I think clouds are a total waste of time as it was! I have not sold a 3 for 99 yet and do not intend to but I have wasted plenty of time and money with people who want something for nothing. How about this for an idea? “In these remote areas perhaps if our already meagre commission was reduced to say 10% but we were paid a premium of £10 per blind (providing we as agents have not given a heavy discount, perhaps losing £1 for every 10% discount we give on the order) we might be in with a chance of making a living and then Hillary's can offer 10 for £99 if they want.”

MELISSA --YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!
In my area we are supposed to do 3 for £99 venetians and rollers. However the Hillarys Brains are advertising in Regional Papers bought in this area Verticals at 3 for £99. So now I have had three calls wanting 3 Verticals for £99. In 2 cases I could not do anything else. It was c**p inner city areas and they wanted just 3 for 99. Both swore at me and told me to eff off and dont come effin back " Yer a con-man" In the third case it was an old dear of 80+ with a daughter (who had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp!!) and they INSISTED on 3 for £99 in Clouds " LIKE IN THE ADVERT"
As I could not help them I tried to sell sideways up to Capri etc etc--but no way. I was again sent with my Pedigree and my questionable heritage shouted at me down the garden path. And theres me supposed to up my return per lead--oh yeah!
MELISSA I have been with Hillarys for 6 years plus and never have I been treated to such a torrent of unwarranted abuse by a type of client we as a Company should have the brains to avoid.
I will no longer accept a situation where I am put in this position again.
Its fine for Hillarys using Advisors time and money to chase these leads up, but if you are just machine gunning adverts all over the country and telling us that " It is targeted in each Region" ( As per your silly FSM's script) then sadly someone is pulling wool over your eyes.
I firmly believe that when I joined Hillarys they were doing a good job, but now I am afraid the inmates are in charge of the asylum ( Your sweet self excepted, my dear!) and the final warning bell rang in my head when I realised that your co-directors thought up the wizard wheeze of getting me to buy the order form that the customer signs.( Paper for SAM Printer)
Now that suggestion must have meant trebles all round in the staff canteen...
Please reply stating what proposals you suggest to bolster the morale of the longer serving old hands who do the job and crack on, covering your corporate backsides viz-a-viz the customer when we have to bodge factory errors on site with hacksaws, mitre-blocks, and a van full of spares ...
Lack of any reply from you to this posting will --in itself--indicate that you concur with my feeling that the present management of city slickers-capital injectors or whatever they are are essentially a 21st century pirate crew with no long term plan for Hillarys.
Squeeze it and the staff dry nad then leggit to their Chav villas on the Costa del Crime Cheers NoNails

Abuse.... I have just made a 40 mile round trip to be told I'm a "chancer" and "May God protect you" First she was cross because I didn't arrive "at 11" (Call booked 9-12), then because I wasn't a man (she was told a man would call), and then when I said I could not sell 3 verticals for £99, I was told I was a chancer, and infered that I was so evil that I needed protection from God. We don't even do 3 verts for £99 in my area, and her windows were too big even for 3 vens for £99. All was not lost though.... the next call resulted in 2 rollers in Suntime Pure White with an extra 10% off promised by the call centre when she booked. Nice little earner £63!! (£9.24 to sell, fit and guarantee 2 blinds for a year!) Why do we bother.......

Average 30 - 40 mpg at nearly £5.00 a gallon and you are down to nothing as you have to repeat the 40 mile round trip to get the blinds fitted.
Now thats earning money-NOT.

Thanks Mellisa...... but the bit about my day picking up was a joke! ;D 2 rollers for £64 after Hillarys gave the customer 10% off is not a very good day for me.... but very nice to see you spending time with us. Enjoy your holiday.

The 3 for £99 is attractingsome right Scrote customer I agree, I always ask for an 100% deposit in these cases. If they go off alarming walk away, tell them to go to Argos. Also be carefull some of the areas ive had leads in at the moment with these mad offers are about as safe as downtown Bagdad. & when Ive refused to go Ive been given greif by someone at Central Leads

Lukan61, Please refrain from derogatory comments when referring to the staff here who are keeping you in leads. I have and will make every effort to help you out where possible, but if you insist on using comments that will only seek to alienate the staff that may want to read these forums to try and assist with your issues and problems then I may just decide to take the same approach and form 'general' opinions of you all. Is this a fair point?
