I have heard a whisper that Hillarys are scheduling a lot of thge next round of team meetings to take place at 9.00 am.
What do you all think of this ? For me, it will mean leaving the house at 7.30 am and battling through rush hour traffic, whereas for our usual late afternoon meetings I only have a 20 minute drive to the same venue. Also, it means that the most useful part of the meeting - a chat and a drink with colleagues - won't happen.
I think this is a totally retrograde step, and undermines the whole spirit of what these meetings are for. Am I alone in this ? Please post your thoughts so that Mellisa can get the message (if there is one on which we agree).

Ours is the usual evening meeting, although we were asked if we wanted a day time one...... Personally, I can't blame the FSM's if they don't want to work evenings. Or is it that Hillarys don't want to PAY them to work evenings?? We also got a note saying that the one to one meetings will now take place in the field... and not in our homes. Sounds dodgy to me.... If the meetings take place at 9am, I for one, won't be able to attend.

Not happy about one-to-one meetings being in the field. Its my business and I dont want hangers on

Fsm's might not like working evenings but we all have to work evenings and they'll get extra pay for it. I've had my evening allocations increased without any consultation!! I prefer the evening meetings as it's a chance to meet up with other advisors and have a drink together at the end of the evening. (and chew over the 3 for 99 offers etc!!!)

My fsm reply has been taken right from the book !
Apparently , I am the only one who has a problem with the new times and that I should not have a problem in re-arranging getting my son to school for one day !
And to quote 'I am not going to pressure you into attending but.... '
Hmmm, I guess I will be attending afterall.
It should make for an interesting morning.

As I see it, morning and afternoon meetings are taking us out of the market place. I'm not getting many leads these days and if they come in the daytime I would rather be out earning. I also think evening meetings ae better for the chance to chinwag afterwards with other advisors

A 1.00pm meeting 37 miles away and then back on my patch about 4.45pm having left the patch at 11.30am. Sorry !Meetings are okay and evenings are ok but not daytime meetings. My evening slots were increased without consultation, and now this....
The job is rapidly becoming NON-COST EFFECTIVE states my accountant. He states I need to instal £700.00 per day invoice value for it to be worth my while...
Thats roughly £100.00 gross per day for 5.5 days for 48 weeks. Expenses knock £41.00 per day off the gross ( SAM+ Diesel+ Van lease+tools+phone calls++++) so Im left with 59.00.. EXACTLY what my plumber charged per hour to replace header tank in the loft.
Accountant proved it---so why on earth give up a day for a ra-ra meeting?? Pay me £59.00 and I will happily attend. After all its for Hillarys benefit as well as mine.
I am neither a Social Service nor am I a charity... Sorry Melanie!!

Crumbs - you get 4 weeks off !
My fsm moaned like hell because I took one week off in June . LoL !!
One thing that everyone has missed- Hillarys will save a packet on bar bills and cost of food provided.
I don't know how much each bill would be but multiply that by how many meetings there are all over the country each year - I bet it saves a few pennies !
Who ever came up with that one must of had a nice pat on the back !

this is definately more to do with saving money, food/drink etc. than anything else. I was told the next meeting was 9am til 11am. This obviously removes the need for food to be provided or drink in bar after at Hillarys expense. All you can expect is tea/coffe and stale biscuits!!

If it's really about saving money then its very short sighted. One of the best investments Hillarys ever make is getting advisors together over a couple of pints to get to know each other better, share experiences, and build a team spirit. It even enables FSM's to 'test the water' on possible issues, and to talk off the record.
If they really want to be saving money then look internally first - a little more care in the factory, and better quality control, could more than halve the number of DOR's virtually overnight !

totally agree. it's a blatantly obvious place to start saving money. spend 5 minutes ensuring the first blind is correct and of an acceptable standard then the blind is only made once immediately halving production costs. unfortunately factory are paid on piece work so until that changes easy fixes like fsm / advisor expenses will be hit.

it's just a knee jerk reaction again.
I'm sure they all sit around a big table and 'try' to find ways of saving the company money.
Up deposits to 50% change meeting times
plus lots more I can't even think about right now.
