It would great if the product managers for each blind type monitored this forum. We can help you by letting you know from the "coal face" where the product is doing well and where things can be improved. You can help us by answering our questions and queries regarding selling and fitting.
It won't be all moans and groans - Mr(s) Roman Blind and Mr(s) Wood Venetian Blind Managers look at my postings under those sections - Theres some congratulations !!!

Time will tell, I was under the hope that something like this would happen in the future so everybody gained from this site.
I think it still needs a little more promotion to the rest of the agents.

Totally agree, but should go even further !
Full marks to Mellisa for monitoring this forum and for posting responses on a couple of points when invited to do so but, firstly, don't wait for the invitation - please feel free to post on any subject where you feel that information would be helpful, or where misinformation needs to be corrected.
Next we need to have more management at Hillarys taking note of what is being said - we the advisors represent more than half of Hillarys total workforce, we are at the front end and actually meet the customers, get frequent comments, resolve problems, etc., yet we have never previously had any means of sharing this information with each other or with the company. This forum is now 70+ advisors strong and, when we spread the word at the next round of team meetings, should easily double this, so we are becoming a valuable feedback resource to Hillarys. Not only can we raise issues but we can discuss them amongst ourselves so that the company are actually getting concensus views - if we mostly agree on something, the company needs to take note.
It may not be practical for all management to monitor this site constantly but perhaps Hillarys could appoint somebody to spend say an hour each day taking in the comments, emailing the appropriate management internally for comment, chasing up their replies, and then posting back to the site. Then, as well as product managers, we could be sure that our comments are relayed to Central Leads, Customer Service, Diary Maintenance, Despatch, Marketing, Quality, Training, IT, etc., but that none of those departments needs to wade thorugh all the postings that do not concern them.
Obviously the nominated go-between needs to be somebody with a good knowledge of all the products, of the way the company works internally, of who is responsible for what, and also needs to have the muscle to ensure that necessary responses are forthcoming.
Mellisa - as our only internal contact through this forum at present - what do you think ? Also, as you are hopefully becoming aware of the value of this forum, is there any reason why Hillarys are not prepared to help us make other advisors aware of our existence ?

As you know, I am a huge fan of this site as it gives me instant access to your views and I intend (with Motters permission) to use it to provide you with up to date information from Hillarys as well as explanations when things go wrong. I have asked a number of the marketing team to drop in on the site and review the commentary as I feel it is useful for us to do this and I am talking to IT about providing a person who will regularly log on to answer any queries you have about SAM. As some of you know I have injured my knee at the moment and this has meant I have time to read and absorb a large proportion of your comments at the moment, but to be able to read and react to all your comments, especially as we want to promote your site nationally, would be difficult. How about we set up a Section for each Product, SAM, Customer Services, Call Centre, Diary Maintenance and training and I will ask a representative of each area to monitor and try to provide feedback on the questions posed? However, one request from me. Not everyone is as thick skinned as me, so constructive comments only please ! Motters, could you set up a Section for this?

Excellent idea.... Phugly and I (as moderators) will do our best to keep an eye on the postings and delete anything offensive or abusive. Which I'm sure we won't need to do too often! It's very exciting (do I need to get a life?? ), and I for one am looking forward to hearing from loads of new members. It would nice if everyone on the site could put which part of the country they are from, even if they wish to remain anonymous....

Perhaps we are both sad, I love coming on this site when I have the chance as I can get feedback instantaneously.

I'll second that Joy. If we can get more advisors on line then we will be able to see a rounded view of the whole country. With everyone on board working together then I've no doubt that Hillarys will be the people to call for blinds

I think it is excellent how in a few short weeks this forum has become very constructive and how both Hillarys (Mellisa) and Advisors (particularly Motters, Joy etc) are keen to enhance communications.
Lets keep the momentum by "going national" to achieve a broader view of advisors and for more of Hillarys' Management to join in the postings with their views and advice.

i think the main problem is that the management of the company don't seem to know or want to find out any of the issues that we as advisers have. They also probably don't know of any issues the staff also have (i suspect they also feel they are banging their heads against a brick wall). there has been talk on this site regarding representatives from depts etc monitoring issues etc., however, in my opinion nothing will change until senoir managers who have the ability to make change happen actually do something to address all these issues. It is all well and good Mellisa responding, but how can she influence all the different departments and divisions throughout the company that she is not responsible for? To my mind there seems a distinct lack of any structure eg sales, quality, maufacturing, production engineering, operations etc Maybe iam wrong and someone can enlighten me.
