Good buy.
Although I was one many years ago suggested a measuring beam, I was disappointed that it was only 3m. A 5m beam would be better, as many windows are over 3m, and the Stanley measure can comfoortable be used at that distance. Over 3m it is difficult, so you have to oblige the customer to help, if they are able and not to short.
While on the subject, watch the orange ends on the beam supplied (sorry, bought from Hillarys), they can mark the customers walls. Better to cover with masking tape.

Poles are made by Messfix.
I've used a 5m pole for the whole time with Hillarys & years before. You really will reduce your mis-measures. I'm surprised how many Adviser's have them but don't use them. Masking tape is good idea for ends as Blind Scout says. They mark many finishes very easily but a wipe with a damp cloth is usually all thats needed. Remember ... measure twice .. fit once ... unless its a DOR!!!!!!!!!

No laughing now . But until I get one of these measuring sticks, where can I buy a venetian blind trimming tool? They used to have them in B&Q but have now stopped selling them.

Ikea also do one under a fiver, but don't use on the Chrome/black slat, as that one is much thicker than the others. It works on the standard slats though.

I bought a blind trimmer on E-bay, only £2.65 inc postage. It only works with 25mm slats though, not adjustable. Try "pilotfishtrading", where I bought it. Sam

Getting problems with my measuring pole again. As I extend it, the smallest part stays still and the next section slides over it. This is second pole with same problem after about a year.
Anyone else had this and found a solution?
Are the ones on ebay a different make and any better?

Anyone else had this and found a solution? Are the ones on ebay a different make and any better? YES!! I posted on this problem a couple of months ago as I had 4 mis-measures before I clocked what was going on. I did not re-order from Hillarys, their stick is FAR TOO DEAR ( Another round of shaft the Agent, I think!) I got a telescopic one from ebay--perhaps the one you are looking at for about £59.00, if I remember right Had to suffer 4 x £7.50 clawbacks but according to Hillarys I measured wrong and that was that!!!
