I know many have opted for the TomTom SatNav for the SAM, but having done plenty of homework & judging by some of the comments on here I decided to get a 'dedicated' machine for the job.
I have the TomTomOne which has been brilliant!!!!
I understand however that the TomTom300 can be prone to a 'glitch' or two.
If you have the SatNav software for SAM then you will need a bigger memory card than the standard one already in your machine.
You will need to have some experience with computers to be able to transfer SAM software & SatNav to the card & keep 'back up' copies too.
Overall, I found that costing out for the SAM PDa compared to TomTom machines didn't add-up.
A few people have bought cheap ( possibly dodgy ) SD cards. Personally, I couldn't take the risk of getting it wrong as I don't earn what I used to with Sillarys!!!!.
Some will disagree with my conclusions I'm sure!!!!!
AND I STILL HATE SAM!!!!!!

Hi Joy,
At the time Dixons had an offer on the TomTomOne around £220 - £230.
But if you wait 'til the end of the summer season or in January sales you may find they'll drop in price as they did a year ago.
TIP. When inserting the software package into the computer I found I had to switch off my Firewall for it to load.
The updates are free & fairly easy to download & install.
TomTom's site allows you to download Speed cameras for around £40 but there is a site that does the same one for just £2.
I've got a warning sound when approaching speed camera's. It sounds like the 'Red Alert' from 'Star Trek'. ... Great fun!!!!
I also prefer the Australian guy's voice. One of the girls voices is irritating after a while!
Don't bother buying TomTom's 'carry case' but go to Tescos & pick up a suede Camera case for around £2.50. It'll be a tight fit to start with but stretches easily enough & it fits onto your belt.
It has all been worth every penny!!!!
