Fitting 11 Blinds in less than 2 hours
Just wanted to share my elation at fitting 9 verticals and 2 romans in a three storey new build house in just less than two hours (order value £1600), certainly a personal record for me, both in time and order value, and to top it all, as I was there over Saturday lunch they fed me home made sandwiches, freshly baked sauage rolls, and gave me a bottle of red wine as I was leaving, to say thank you for doing such a good job - (I simply took off my shoes, minimised and cleaned up all the dust as normal) - can it get better than that ?
I would however like to thank the builder of the house, because although there was the standard steel lintle and upvc windows thus top fix was the order of the day, the gap between the plaster board and the steel lintel was filled with a piece of 3x2 timber, so easy to drill and get a great fix into, this should be made part of the building code, lobby your MP get it made law . . . . Im NOT Joking ! if only all jobs could be so easy.

Euroweb Not to make light of your record breaking achievement, but I can't help thinking that if you were fitting into wood, you should of shaved another half hour off that time ;D Maybe it was the sandwich's and sausage rolls that slowed you down. Sorry everyone, Mr negative strikes again

I would have fitted 19 venetians in 1,1/2, but unfortunately only 17 of them turned up. One has appeared this week, t'other is still AWOL. As customer is moving in to new house this week, I've fitted the one that's arrived so I can now boast 17 in 1,1/4 hours followed by 2 in 2 hours to cover extra visits ooops, I've just gone negative again

I got a big thank you and a bonus from Hillary's. Then I woke up. Red I started to fit 2 sloping vertical blinds into a conservatory with an apex side meeting up to the roof, last may 2005. Because there were 2 or 3 louvres out of synch' (ie, not following the level, not bloody cut properly) i have had to replace and go back 5 times, until eventually i refused to go back, all because they are never made correctly. have asked for another advisor to go and see what he can do. Unfortunately, the customer has wised up, and is never in when he tries to go. So 11 months later, blinds not sorted, not paid for, and no commission. £600 freebie for this customer, all because they cant make the blinds properly, The point i was trying to make is, Is this 11 month fitting time, the slowest/longest ?? fitting time. My quickest is 30 seconds to replace a couple of louvres ;D
