Why can't Hillarys make the fabric and barrel the same width? Nearly every roller blind I fit has white barrel visible at least one side. I fitted £1700's worth (discounted to £625 as beat-a-quote due to Hillarys price war) in a conservatory today, and every one of the 14 blinds looked awful. The 2 door blinds were on 36mm barrels and had 8mm of barrel visible between fabric and side winder. All the others had 3-5mm visible Every time I do a conservatory in rollers, I'm amazed the customers accept them

In all the rollers i have ever fitted (like hundreds!) only a small percentage rolls up square! There fore sideways movement of the fabric is necessary , and hence your white barrel syndrome . Not perfect - but we are talking sillary's .!!!.
I find some fabrics perform 'roll up 'function better than others , usually the thin ones are best (inc, acacia) and worst ones i then remove from sample book and therefore will not sell them.
We all have to tailor make certain things to suit OUR requirements ! So sorry to sillary's yet again.
