I have just left a quote for 3 roller blinds in acacia shape 4 for a bay window - £326. Customers reply "You're having me on, ******'s blinds quoted £140 for the bay £200 for the whole front of the house". Yet, I have been told by successive FSM's that our prices are competetive based on surveys of rival firms in our area. How can this be when my most expensive rival can undercut us by more than 50%

If the customer has another quote and you can still make enough commission by matching it, I would discount.

Tried that, guess what the response was?
"If you can cut half the price off just like that then you must have been trying it on to start with"
And this was despite showing the price on SAM

I would just quote the 'price match' if they still won't play then walk away as you will never make them happy.
