Don't want to be boring but.... the dreaded 4 for £99 leaflet has just dropped through my door! The customers have had the advertising... it's just me, the Hillarys advisor, that didn't know we were doing it in this area. Have I missed something...or am I supposed to know which fabrics are in this AMAZING offer? And , more importantly, how do I avoid having to sell them?

Hi, Have had this offer up north for 3 weeks now, diary has filled up nicely but! 8 customers this week alone have asked me to leave house because the 4 colors on offer are hideous to say the least and when you try and offer clouds as a alliterative 2 for £99 they just accuse you of trying to rip them off gets embarrassing really. I have made some larger sales to people who originally wanted offer but these are to few to warrant my waste of time/diesel/money for the ones who ask me to leave. I now say to people that every other company who offers cheap blinds do exactly the same and you are better picking what you like and paying extra, I just try and laugh and joke about offer if they ask and tell them all the good colors are out of stock, even though we did not have any good colors >:(pleased in a way because I do not fancy fitting 4 for £99, by the way have only sold one job with this offer, that says it all really. I now just try to explain that Hillarys has balled up and show them the 'offending' fabric that is the only one on offer now !
Hopefullly you can charm them enough to move on other offers before they start complaining about it being a con !
Lets face it that's all it is ?
Hillarys are advertising something that they don't want anyone to have so have put in the worst fabric I've ever seen.
On top of that, the postcards I've seen show a nice natural fabric up at two windows with white headrails with '4 for £99' in big writing all over it.
Not the orange disaster that we are forced into showing them .
Customers don't expect the top of the range but if it's showing a natural color then they are right to expect that .

What?!! I thought 3 for £99.00 was bad enough!! Marketing department gets a pat on the back for increased leads, we get less comission per sale, and less bonus, becuase of decreased lead effect. I am thinking of screening my leads. It looks bad on Hillarys and us when you explain the small, small print. Not doing "anyone" any favoures. Marketing get in touch with how the buyer works.

Don't think the offer is coming to end - it keeps coming back. Whatever timescale you're told, it'll get extended In Hampshire we had 4 for £99 in September, and continued advertising it for 3 weeks after it finished. We were told we weren't getting the 3 for £99, but then saw it being advertised. Checking with head office, we were told it starts the following week but someone thought it would help advertising a week early!!!! I think the problem is nobody at Nottingham talks to each other. They all sort of know the plan, but no two departments are working to the same timescale

I turned a £748 vertical non sale into a £320 sale with the same customer without any stupid offers. We, hello us, the advisors are out there promoting Hillarys as a quality product and trying sell a made to measure DIY, off the shelf blind. Come on, without the advisors, where is Hillarys, I ask you? Hillarys is not about silvers head rails and a choice of 4 samples when we go and see a customer with hundreds of samples ....

Why has the TEMPORARY? measure of forcing an extra slot into evening appointments not been dropped. Yet again faced with the prospect of trying to see 4 customers in 3 hours while travelling approx 70 miles. Not much chance of doing it the Hillarys way tonight then. Or is it just me? ?
