Moved from original thread.
Sorry I need help!! Haven't quite got the hang of this posting thingy yet! Can't get the Quotes and my text on the same post! Anyone out there who can help me out please?
If you want to show quoted text as here, click the quote button and you will be presented with a message reply box, showing the text within square brackets, starting with quote ...] and ending with /quote]. The message headers appear after quote and includes the author=, board=, thread= , post= These square brackets surrounding "key" words, are known as tags, most opening tags also have a closing tag with the key word preceeded with a /, and used in HTML language as used on web pages.
As long as you leave the quote and /quote within the square brackets and the header info, you can delete some of the text if not needed. Thes quotes tags put the quoted text in a box. You can also edit out what is known as nested quotes, that is a quote tag within a quote tag ie quote...... quote........ ..../quote ...../quote, rembering the quote tags are within square brackets.
After the closing /quote, you add your reply, and click the Post Reply button. You can add smilies as required, and addn additional tags for changing the appearance of the text, bold italics, colour etc. They all appear in a table above the edit box.
Another way to quote text, is to just click the Reply button, and then use your editor to cut and paste the required text into your message.
Hope this helps.
Arrrgh; cardinal sin. I should have used a new thread, Sorry guys. I will move to a new thread.
