Just had a look at this - don't laugh, but 2 advisors are asking for better fabrics for the 3/£99 offers so they can sell them more easily. So, are ACADEMY and TENNYSON real advisors, or company pretend ones?

is the new website going to be an award winning comedy forum just like Hillarys have become a comedy company ;D No, you are wrong. Hillary's are not a comedy company. Whoaaaa, before you think, Whats this, has Red gone all soft. Think about it. They have the Adviser network with some 850 advisor's, probably more than that now. They have the direct sales to Joe public via Web Blinds and the new Blinds Supermarket. They have Arena, the direct sales to the Wholesale traders and then they have the components sales. There are probably other sales that I either cant remember or dont know about. So all in all, they probably only consider the adviser network a small, but important part of their sales. So if that is the case then a singular adviser would be considered a very small part in a smallish part of the overall sales picture. Not so stupid after all. I would do the same if I owned the company. Some chance. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU.RED

I will continue to use this forum, but will also use the Hillarys one where it is relevant. You can order spares, and raise things you're unhappy about in the hope that someone will read it and react. Hillarys obviously want their website to replace this one, so may actually do something about some of the points raised to prove its success, so get in early. My initial impression of it is it's rather faceless and sterile. It's early days, and has yet to develop a character of its own, but there's no pictures or avatars, no personal messages link to user, and just show agency name against each posting

Well the Stock Availability page is very useful (NOT). It was last updated 28th November. If they can't update information like this on a regular basis when the site is just starting out, what chance of the future?
I will be sticking with this forum unless the other one vastly improves.

Blue van man, like your avatar.
Is it real, and if so, when did Hillarys start selling shutters? If not, are they something the rest of us can sell?

My customer got a discount on his blinds, I got my van liveried. Have a look at www.shuttersbyhillarys.com/You need to go on a 2 day course to sell & fit them

I will always stick with this forum because I feel that the regular contributors have become friends, and because there are some things that we need to get off our chests that wouldn't be appropriate on the official forum. However, I commend the company for their efforts and, whilst it is currently very limited (indeed, not even very current), I hope that they develop the site further so that it becomes a useful means of communication. At least there won't be any excuse for ignoring or not responding to matters which advisors raise on the official forum. One thing I haven't worked out ! Does the Hillarys forum have the facility to show the last 20 / 50 posts ? I haven't found how to do it yet and if it's not possible I won't bother with it much. One of the best features of this forum is the ability to see what people are saying now, without having to wade through all of the individual subjects. Anyway, I will visit the Hillarys website on a regular basis, and will contribute where appropriate, but I certainly won't be turning my back on the friendships that have been developed here over the last eighteen months. In the meantime, and in my own understated manner (I certainly can't match Red's clip art).....A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL !

There is an option to create your own views, so I spent a pleasant 1/2 hour playing with this , trying to create a "last 50 postings" view, only to be greeted with the message "not authorised" when I tried to save it. I've put a posting on the other website asking for this. Be interesting to see if I get any response. Having spent some time as a database developer in a previous life, it shouldn't take a skilled developer more than 5 minutes to create

I think you're mistaken Des, I see no means of ordering spares on the company site. You can certainly see what part numbers they are tho'.
From what I can see on the site so far the most useful thing is the list of contacts but I think the list could be more comrehensive and up to date.
I think I will stick to this site for the main part but will visit other side if I think it's relevant
