Does anyone have any recommendations for an adhesive suitable for fixing the returns on wooden valances? I think it should be fast setting, and not melt in hot weather etc. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Have you tried the hot glue guns you get from places like B&Q. They set very Quick and come in handy for all sorts of things like loose braid and sticking the end caps back on.

Try and get hold of a product called "Mitre Mate". I used to fit kitchens and it is used on joints for cornice, light pelmet, etc,. It is instant and a lot easier than hot glue guns, etc. Screwfix sell it (or a variation). It really does the job.

I Used the 'Mitre Fast' today, and it was excellent! You spray eg the valance (this is the catalyst), then apply a couple of drops of the adhesive to the valance return, hold in place for 10 seconds, - job done!
