Hi Joy & Mick and Pontypool, My wife and I work in a similar manner, My wife selling and myself fitting. This is the way we have always worked for 14 years. It proved to be a successful but slow build up to us both working full time, ie 50+ hrs each per week. However in the last four years or so since the 0800 numbers replaced ours in the local paper, plus all the other implications that went with that,( central leads allocated by postcode, etc etc.) we have found our business eroded away. :'(We are now in the enviable position of only being available for 10 appointment slots p/wk and Hillarys have not filled more than half of those for the last four weeks. I find that fitting now takes less than two afternoons p/wk. but sorting out the DOR's takes two days Guess who isn't impressed at being told we need to 'invest' £300 in SAM in order to remain 'on board'. After the fiasco with the fax machine I think they've got b---dy nerve.

I bought some dark blue polo shirts from Peacoks at £3 each and printed the logo onto transfer paper to make my own "branded" workware at a fraction of the cost (My apologies to peacoks for the spelling, but this forum keeps changing it to "Peathingys" )

This sounds like a great idea - but I was wondering if the logo withstood washing etc? Also wondering of the make of transfer paper that you used? Thanks!

I missed our Team Meeting as my Area Manager failed to let me know.
However although I do not want to wear branded tea shirts etc I can see where Hillarys are coming from.
Do they want full or part time
My opinion is Hillarys expect a lot of commitment for little reward.
My turnover is no where near 240K but I am still dong over 16k a year in milage selling and fitting blinds.
my actual net profit is £1500
This year I have aquired SAM which I estimate will come to over £1000.
My mobile Bill from Virgin was about one pound fifty a month
I have a Cousin who owns a Carpet Shop and used to be a Hillarys Agent 15 years ago on this area He says he just could not make hillarys pay.
He now owns over a Million pounds of property so he was not a poor Salesman, Fitter etc
Just needed more profit
