What is the stupidest thing your FSM has said?
Here are a few of my favorites:
1. I'm here to help! 2. I'll ring you back 3. Leave it with me, I'll get that sorted 4. I'll get your money refunded 5. I only need to spend 10 minutes with you at the next meeting 6. The next area meeting will be exciting 7. There is no recruitment for Adviser's in your area 8. The 'New look' ads in the paper will be stunning 9. I can bring a wealth of knowledge to the table 10. Hillarys know what they are doing
If I can think of any more I'll post them.
Tell us your favorites.

I must be one of the lucky ones, I have an FSM I can get hold of most of the time, and if I cant, he usually rings back within an hour. He backs me up on everything and if he cant sort something out he will know who can. I can talk to him without fear of criticism and I feel my business has improved because of him

did I hear right at a recent meeting that we are going to have more fsm's? it would be so nice to have one that works with advisor's instead of being confrontational and negative. they never last long anyway and all have big ideas but not much substance. at our last meeting we had a positive DVD but a negative fsm.

Can't say I've heard it like that!!! ... but there was an update letter a month back that notified us of a vacancy for an FSM post. They are requesting the applicant have good communication skills & be a 'people' person. That'll 'break the mould' then!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to confirm that the attitude is changing; on Monday and Tuesday of this coming week, one of the brand new FSMs (for Scotland) is spending both days with me out on the road to see how it's done (or not done as the case may be).
I was asked several weeks ago if I would be prepared to do this, so it seemed a good chance to help a newcomer understand the day-to-day highs and lows of being a Hillarys Advisor. They will see it exactly as it is, if it's a successful two days then fine, equally, if they happen to be bad days, then so be it.

Don't take this the wrong way rappers, but may you have lots of leads 20 miles apart, and all wanting 3 for 99, Oh and they want you to leave a quote. And ask her how she would handle the call. On the good side, she can help you carry in the big blue bag, with all the sample books, SAM, measuring stick, steps, etc. you will be wearing your image clothing, and arrive in your vehicle duly fitted with magnetic signs.

My leads for tomorrow are one local, the next eight miles away, the next a further 12, then a further four, then a further 11, but it's like that EVERY day because I work a very rural area. I don't use a measuring stick except for roofs, steps are only taken in after assessing the need and I have a signwritten van. You'll dislike this but I'm one of the guys that thinks Hillarys are pretty good and I have very few problems with them. I'm a great believer in the job and therefore the problems are what you make them!!

Rappers!!
We are ALL 'Believers' in the job!
It's because of that, that we moan or complain!!
When your income is not a salary & is based on whether you sell or not ... it becomes frustrating that these problems are caused by people that are paid regardless of the outcome of the product or the relationship between Hillarys, us & the customer.
We keep on doing this job every day whilst working often just as hard trying to get Hillarys & its staff to sit up, pay attention to their work whilst improving ours at the same time.
As you say ... problems are what you make it .... even minor ones!
We all just want to make it ... BETTER!!!!!

New FSM ......" I've done my induction training with the company and during that I spent FULL FIVE DAYS measuring and fitting blinds, so I have seen it all !!!" Really? Good! To parody a recent advert on the telly... "NEVER EXPECT HELP FROM AN FSM ON A MONDAY,TUESDAY,WEDNESDAY,THURSDAY, OR UNTIL 2.0PM ON A FRIDAY. I have been trying to ring, email, and leave calls out for mine since last Monday mid-day, and I might as well be dead for all the response I get. REASON....I get a deduction of £35.00 commission without any email or phone call, on a large installation, where the client raised a complaint regarding the colour of the blinds fitted. ( Ordered after dark on a Special Evening Selling Appointment) Said she didnt like my attitude, as I had told her that was what she ordered, another agent went, and agreed with what I said, ( Well done & Thanks--whoever u are!). She then rang up again and said still not happy so she gets £250.00 knocked off a £600 pound order on which she has paid 50% deposit to me when ordering on SAM, and now baulks at paying the balance --wanting more than £250 off. So I suffer £35 off my money, and have still to get paid if and when she pays the reduced balance!!!!!!! WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO COMMUNICATION? ?? FSM IN QUESTION, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE... WHY SHOULD I NOT NAME AND SHAME YOU?? BECAUSE I , FOR THE MOMENT AM OFFERING YOU THE CHANCE TO DO YOUR JOB, SO CALL/EMAIL ME..... YOU HAVE 72 HOURS THEN I GO PUBLIC..

We had a customer last week who decided the colour she had chosen wasn't right AFTER the blinds were fitted in her conservatory. Hillarys very kindly told her to choose something else at no extra cost..... At least we won't get LESS commission, but an EXTRA payment would be nice to cover the extra trip.

Joy, you know better than to accept to go unless they pay you for it !
A simple call to service support and refuse to do it will get you the money.
